We caught up with the brilliant and insightful MORAL a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi MORAL , thanks for joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
Ever since seeing my favorite bands live, like Panic! At The Disco. I was obsessed with the art of performing. I also used songwriting as a form of expression. To express feelings I didn’t feel comfortable talking about.
MORAL , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Sean Rehak, I go by the stage name MORAL. I’m an alternative artist from Baltimore, Maryland. I’m 21 years old and have been writing music since I was 16
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
There’s been plenty of times where I’ve been told my music sucks haha. This comes with the art of creation. There’s been plenty of times I’ve played shows to empty rooms. But I just kept going, there was a voice in my head that told me to keep going. Keeping my faith strong with a close circle and God to keep me going, I’ve finally found a spark.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I love creation, and I love people being able to resonate with the music as they are all written about emotional aspects in my life. A dream of mine is to go on a full tour, so that dream is driving my creative process.
