We were lucky to catch up with Mora Que recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mora , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I am so happy as a creative. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else but what I love to do. Don’t get me wrong I’ve had “regular” jobs but I knew from an early age that I wanted to contribute to the Hip Hop community
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a multifaceted artisan. One of which is making music. I’ve been writing rap songs since I was 10 years old and didn’t start taking it semi-professional by the time I was 18. At that time I had a female rap group and we did shows locally around the LA area. I am most proud of opening up for the rap legend KRS ONE and what sets me apart from other female Rappers is that I embody all facets of divine femine energy.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In my view the best thing that society can do to support artists is just that SUPPORT! SHARE! LIKE! our content and mention our name in rooms of opportunities. There’s room for everyone to become their dream. We have no time for crabs in the bucket mentality anymore. We obviously can see what the power of word of mouth does and the influence social media has in our society. So a simple share could do an artist lots of good.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is when I’m on stage and I see people rocking to my music and cheering me on….Its the greatest feeling in the world
