Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Monsieur Chase Estevez. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Monsieur Chase, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
I am Monsieur Chase Estevez, International Chase, Worldwide Estevez, Hall Of Fame Chase, many names, one man, one legend, let’s go. I would first like to give praise and glory to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The idea of owning a tailor made suit company first came about when I was a government contractor working in Afghanistan and started traveling the world. The deciding factor was when I came back to the states for a vacation. While being home, I had to run errands and decided to make a stop at the bank first. I was wearing a suit of course and as I was in line to be seen by one of the bank tellers, out of nowhere the branch manager approached me and said “I can help you in my office.” So I followed him to his office and we began to have a conversation. After small talk, the teller asked me what was my occupation and I told him I’m a government contractor and I work in Afghanistan supporting the US military. His face lit up and started thanking me for my services and I said “I’m not in the military, I help them, you don’t have to thank me.” His reply was “But you’re still over there, you’re risking your life for your family.” Which was true but I never thought of it that way. Then he proceeded to ask me what was my reason to come into the bank today. I told him I came to deposit money that’s it. He smiled and said “Oh I thought you were here for a business transaction by the way you were dressed in a suit.” We both laughed and I said, “Thank you for the compliment.” At that moment it dawned on me. If this man judged me by my appearance, what does everyone else think? How do they view me in this suit? From that day, Estevez Clothing Co. was born. Top5

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
The best source of new clients is still that good old fashion word of mouth. I feel that word of mouth is undefeated in marketing. Second is going to be business networking events, the amount of potential clients I’m able to meet is amazing and I love being connected with new and interesting people. I feel that hearing other people’s story is motivating and inspiring. There’s something fueling about hearing a great underdog and rags to riches story and I know that will be me soon and yall are getting a first glance at the story.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ve had to unlearn and understanding that I can’t do everything myself and it’s ok to have help. I’ve been a one man army for so long in personal and business life which forced me to learn the hard way. I’ve learned that operating like that can hinder the growth of my business. I want to truly maximize the level of where my company is currently stands while reaching a worldwide dominance. As I take the steps forward with securing a house hold team, I’ve hired a manager by the name of Raquel Marie Sims. Actually, she is the reason I’m doing this interview and I’ve also learned that during this process, the power of delegation is phenomenal when used correctly and you have great people around you.
