We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Monique Robinson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Monique below.
Hi Monique, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s start with a hypothetical – what would you change about the educational system?
As an educator there are so many tools needed to enhance the scholars while preparing them for their future endeavors one of the key tools is to expose the scholars to all options and take your own experiences and failures out of their process. I have been an educator for over 20 years, I have so many success stories that it is always challenging to think of one. Well, this school year while assisting the scholars with their collegiate goals and future aspirations I had one scholar that did not receive the guidance or assistance from their Academic Counselor but the perseverance and persistence of the parent made it possible for the scholar to get the acceptance and financial assistance needed to attend college in the Fall of 2023.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
II had many revelations and lessons learned over the span of years as a business owner. The one that has taught me and I hold close to my method of doing things effectively is to not be discouraged if something does not work the first time. Be willing to fail so that when you succeed it will feel like a huge accomplishment. I know I mentioned one but I have two the other is do not allow others to make you feel like your dream is not possible. Your vision and dream was given to you so make it happen.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
This story is a hilarious one but actually true. I met my mentor Anthony H. Brown I contacted him because they were not doing nearly as much as the programs offered in Texas that was happening in Ohio. After several conversations and guidance virtually Anthony started the TV show HBCU Alumni House Party and has coached me to success by developing my own show that highlights the scholars who are successful in their various communities.
