We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Monique Kirksey. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Monique below.
Alright, Monique thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Yes, quite a few defining moments along my entrepreneurship journey, but learning the importance of Self-Care, Self-Awareness, Self-Love, and Self-Mastery has defined my purpose and passion in life as well as become the trajectory of my business. 10 years ago, I had a life-changing surgery that lead me to herbalism and womb healing. I was only 30 years young when I was told I had to have a partial hysterectomy. At that time, I believed that was the only option. But had I had the chance to meet the person I am now back then, I would definitely still have my Uterus today. I’m sure this setback was purposeful and has become the alchemical ingredient to the transformational awakening into my greatest self as they say. But, without a doubt, I know this less-than-desirable moment in time, was indeed meaningful in my career now.
Monique, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Introducing myself or describing what I do from a business perspective is so challenging because what I do is basically a full expression of my lifestyle. I am a wholistic wellness practitioner. I create sacred spaces that cultivate self-mastery and sustainable wellness. More specifically, I am a herbalist, a beekeeper, I facilitate herbal workshops, classes and retreats. I am a yogi, womb healer, writer, author, dancer and best of all I am a mother.
In addition to creating sacred spaces, I help guide my clients back to their inner knowing better known as your intuition, the place where true healing begins. I love expressing and teaching the art of Self-Care which ultimately evolves into the Mastery of Self-Love.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Giving them grace! I’ve learned that you have to give people space to fully express themselves without judgment or negative interference. I allow my clients to design the path of healing as opposed to telling them what and how to do things. This holds my clients accountable for their success and effectively learn from their failure. This strategy is what I realize I needed most in my healing moments. Clients come to me thinking they are helpless instead I restore confidence in them by identifying the tools and resources in their life that are best for them while developing their intuitive wisdom. And as a result, my client shares their experience with others which has always been the best compliment and marketing strategy ever!
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Being relatable and simple. I’ve adopted a minimalistic lifestyle that has spilled over into my healing practice. I remind others that you have everything need already within their reach. You are the source of all wealth, power, and inner peace. I basically remind them of their God Essence. So in doing this, I create that same space for myself. I remind myself that I have everything I need to be successful and prosperous. This attracts resources, people, and opportunities to me consistently and effortlessly. Of course, I love to learn and research deeper into my field by taking classes, attending workshops and seeking out mentors. But, I’ve learned that I have acquired more development and wisdom just by spending time in nature.
