We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Monique Janean. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Monique below.
Monique, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
We are all gifted—not just with talents, but with vision. The core of my work is helping entrepreneurs fully execute the one placed inside them. Whether I’m designing brand essentials, coaching through life transitions, or helping someone turn chaos into clarity, my goal is always the same: to guide people toward the vision God planted in their hearts.
There’s something sacred about honoring the desires we often silence. I have experienced seasons where I was executing well, but felt unfulfilled. That tension between potential, peace, and execution is where my mission lives. I help people stop operating from pressure, DIY-ing without support, or living on autopilot, but instead move with intention.
This mission matters to me because it leans into the power of consistent personal development. I have had to navigate major shifts in identity and purpose, and I have learned that true alignment comes from trusting God, preparing for success, and releasing the need to prove ourselves. We each have the authority to build a life of meaning and peace—even when we’re working with the hand we’ve been dealt or following a blueprint that looks different than what the world expects.

Monique, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Even though I studied journalism at Clark Atlanta University, it took time for me to fully embrace my skills as a writer and creative professional. I started out with Felicity by Monique Janean—a personal blog that helped me process and express my thoughts. What began as a healing outlet became my first LLC.
After graduation, transitioning into corporate was more difficult than I expected, especially moving back to my hometown, which was never part of my original plan. I entered the healthcare field out of necessity to get income flowing, cycling through jobs, often leaving them quickly.
I’ve always loved magazines and kept an extensive collection. One day, bored at a receptionist desk, I started vision boarding. That moment was a turning point—I knew I had to reconnect with my creative roots.
After officially launching my business, I began hosting vision board events in my city. Then, in early 2020, only weeks before the COVID-19 quarantine, I moved back to Atlanta. That season brought an unexpected stillness. For the first time in my life, I experienced deep silence—no chaos, no noise, no distractions.
Growing up with family members deep in addiction—and as the child of an addict raised by my aunts—I was used to loud, often overwhelming environments. The quiet forced me to sit with myself and finally confront the things I had been avoiding.
After my Aunt and Bonus Mother, Delores, passed away later that year, I committed to taking better care of my health—mentally, emotionally, and physically. That journey brought me back to myself and the creative gifts I had been neglecting: storytelling, design, journaling, capturing moments through photos and video, and creating experiences that speak to the soul.
Today, I’ve helped hundreds of individuals clarify their vision and bring it to life through strategy, design, and coaching. I specialize in helping entrepreneurs—especially those navigating transitions—build aligned, sustainable brands by simplifying their goals, improving execution, and crafting powerful narratives. My work helps clients not only show up professionally but also as who they were created to be: bold, peaceful, purpose-driven, and ready to increase their income, impact, and influence.

What sets me apart is my ability to merge personal development, brand clarity, and execution strategy. I support the whole person, not just the business. I have walked through the darkness, but my light has never stopped shining. Each major life transition has come with an identity shift, and I know what it means to rebuild. Now, I serve from a place of intention and faith, empowering others to do the same.
What I’m most proud of is not just the work I’ve created, but who I’ve become in the process. I’ve built a brand rooted in faith, healing, and creative excellence, all while navigating real life, real losses, and real transitions. My brand isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about alignment. It’s proof that when you trust your gifts, do the inner work, have faith, and stay obedient to the vision, you can build something deeply meaningful that serves others.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
At one point, I was doing 6–7 side hustles to get by. I was in survival mode, yet I never stopped pouring into myself. Even without a full-time job, I invested in programs—some costing $2,000 to $10,000—that expanded my skills, sharpened my vision, and opened doors to opportunities I never imagined, including major brand partnerships.
That season taught me that honoring your God-given abilities doesn’t always come with a clear path or polished title, and to embrace uncertainty. Also, to lead with who I am, not just what I do, because I now understand the important journey of building a legacy, not just a resume. I learned the value of asking for help and seeking wise counsel. That commitment to inner work became the foundation of the woman, creator, and entrepreneur I am today.
I move by faith, and choosing progress over perfection has paid off. Struggle does not have to be a requirement for success. But we often feel lost simply because we haven’t tapped in long enough to claim what’s already ours. Life’s ups and downs shape our character, direction, and purpose if you look for the lessons.
So, my story isn’t about trauma bonding—it’s about transformation. It’s about moving with faith and making something out of nothing. And that’s exactly what I do: turn visions into tangible realities.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being an artist is watching something come to life from absolutely nothing. Starting with a blank canvas—often without a clear idea of the final result—and allowing intuition, practice, and trust to guide the process.
I often say, “I never know what I’m doing until it’s done.” But with every creation, I gain clarity, sharpen my skills, and build confidence—simply by just doing. By trying, experimenting, and learning along the way. When I’m deep in flow and time disappears, I know I’ve tapped into something powerfully aligned—it sits gracefully with my spirit.
I thank God and everyone who’s been a part of my journey!
