Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Monique Chambers. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Monique, thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positively (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively?
My parents were both entrepreneurs when I was growing up. My dad had been everything from a dog catcher in Alaska, owning his own line of beauty products, to being a record producer and even owned a radio station and my mom had been an interior decorator to owning her own nail salon for over 15 years. I suppose their examples taught me that skis are the limit, you can do anything that you set your hearts desire to. I grew up in a middle-class family and never wanted for anything. Sure there were some rough times, yet even they taught me to persevere, never give up and it will always work out somehow. My parents were also my greatest cheerleaders, whatever my heart was into them. They were incredible at allowing me to be who I am and guiding me to follow my dreams and my dreams became their dreams for me instead of the other way around. Most of all my parents taught me the power of mind and the power of having a deep belief in myself. I was 29 years old, and had just quit my 6-year job at Paramount Pictures as Post Production Coordinator for Star Trek. I had bought a house two years previous. Yet, I knew that there was something amazing awaiting my life. They never once tried to talk me out of it, they believed, because I believed that I was going to be ok. I was not only ok, I began my fitness business full time and was hired by a billionaire client and traveled all over the world on private planes and saw so much of the world and learned so much! I had the most priceless experience of my life, because of that decision. My parents always believed in me and gave me confidence by having confidence in me. All of which has been my drive all of my life, to go after whatever, follow my heart, have a vision, have unwavering faith in myself and my abilities to attract to me whatever is needed to make whatever it is happen.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
As a Life Mastery Coach it means to go further than you’ve ever thought necessary– beyond the norm of typical results and life experience–to be sure that you experience the true expansion you crave and success. My approach is a holistic one, far more encompassing than just helping a client reach a specific goal like an accountability coach might. I strive to get my clients total life transformation and alignment. Focusing holistically on the client’s mindset, perceptions, productivity, interpersonal communication skills. Helping clients to explore and establish their high-performance habits and purpose. To help clients discover deep insights and major breakthroughs. To help clients accelerate their human development and personal growth.
I myself have had an extremely full life of great experiences and some not so great. Yet, they all happened and I’m still here to share how I managed the good and the bad. I love leading a client to seeing how living a life of joy and confidence that comes from living their best life can become their reality.
Quite honestly I’ve been doing this work all of my life on some level or another. There wasn’t a name for it other than simply “caring” and wanting to be of service. I’ve always wanted people to leave me feeling a bit better than before I saw them. I am an intuitive empath and I came here that way. I have had the opportunity to live an extraordinary life and that was a gift given to me in order that I share my ups and downs to help others get through their tough journeys ahead. I was blessed with a father who taught me to meditate when I was six years old. He taught me to love myself and to trust my first mind (intuition) always. He taught me about my innate power and how to use it. He taught me to LOVE and FORGIVE. I was pregnant with my daughter and I had many clients that had children tell me that I had to take prenatal yoga at this place called Golden Bridge Yoga. So I did and I later got certified in Kundalini Yoga & Meditation/Pre & Post-natal Yoga.
I was determined to get parenthood right so, I took courses in non-violent parenting and became a parenting coach, later to get my early childhood development training to teach preschoolers mindfulness and emotional regulation techniques. I have been a human development student all of my life. Reading, going to seminars and listening to cassette tapes of Jim Rhone, Bob Proctor, Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Marrianne Williamson, to name a few.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Going through the economic crisis back in 2008. I had just had my daughter in 2007 and I was going through a major shift in desire to work as a fitness trainer and was wanting a change. I had some money saved to live and raise my daughter without much concern until I didn’t…
My husband is in the industry and there was a writers’ strike which meant all work stopped cold for him. So to say it lightly there was no new money coming through our doors…. Yikes!!
All I knew is that we were going to get through it. Not sure how, except with a strong sense of Faith and Resilience that we would see the other side of this. I chose to believe nothing but that. I can remember the day they came to place foreclosure papers on our front gate….I gently removed them and continued on my day. Because although I didn’t know how, I did KNOW I LIVED HERE.
I began to pour myself into caring for my home with utter gratitude for all that it provided for us. I tended to the garden, made things beautiful. I Focused on my gratitude and on what I had and it continued to provide for me and the answers to how to keep it that way began to fall into my lap. Business began to pick up and the things we needed were provided and I still live here to this day.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
During Covid 19 a time when a lot of people lost their businesses and a time when my business began to thrive. I took to the internet and it opened a whole new international market to my coaching business. Zoom is a God sent. Even more human and personal growth and development training and honing my skills. I became even better at my craft. It was a true time of introspective and challenges in relationships, etc. Big work on perspectives and mindset and mental toughness.
