Monifa , appreciate you joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Yes, I’ve been able to earn a full-time living from my creative work, but it wasn’t an overnight success. My journey began by doing graphic design for my church, which provided a foundation for honing my skills and understanding the impact of visual communication. It was a faith walk from the start, and I trusted God to guide me through each step.
Initially, it required a lot of patience, hard work, and perseverance. Building a portfolio, gaining experience, and establishing a reputation took time. There were moments of doubt and uncertainty, but I kept pushing forward, believing that God had a plan for my life and career.
As I perfected my craft and developed a unique style, opportunities began to arise. Over time, I had the privilege of working with celebrities, big companies, and a variety of clients from different industries. Each project was a testament to God’s provision and guidance. The connections I made, the projects I completed, and the growth I experienced were all aligned with His plan.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?
I remember doing a sale when I first started and still perfecting my craft I was VERY nervous that an NFL player found me and need some marketing items. Those marketing materials were placed in so many different rooms. It gave me the confidence I needed to keep going!
