The proveb “it takes a village to raise a child” emphasizes the collective responsibility and involvement of a community in nuturing and educating a child.
I was raised in Tompkins Projects in Brooklyn, New York. Despite the negative reputation of the area, I was fortunate to have a positive ubringing. I learned valuable lessons about love and acceptance in a place where many people feel fear.
During my upbringing , in spite of limited material possesions, I was fortunate to have supportive neighbors who never made me feel deprived or ostracized due to my circumstances.
Once, when I found myself with out toothpaste , I politely knocked on the door of my neighbor before school. They kindly provided me with some toothpaste on my toothbrush and sent me on my way, without any indication that I was causing them any inconvience. There were times when Columbia jackets were very popular, and black top reebok sneakers were beyond my budget. My aquaintances and even individuals within my neighborhood who observe my attire would occasionaly offer me branded items at a reduced cost, enabiling me to integate my clothing style.
I received hospitality from many of my friends parents and was educated on the proper etiquette for entering people’s homes and maintaining cleanliness.
When I relocated, I adhered to the same principles that guide my approach to work and friendships throughout my life. Regardless of my location, I strive to contribute positively to my new community embodying the values that Brooklyn has instilled in me.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
During my teenage years, an educator inquired about my Christmas traditions. However , due to financial constraints, my family did not extensively celebrate the holiday, resulting in a limited exchange of gifts. Every Christmas for the past four years, a few students and our educator have been bringing joy to children battling cancer by distributing toys to them.
I found my purpose in life and the happiness that comes from helping others. I discovered that I can give back through my work in film, counseling, and storytelling.
I was raised during a time when disclosing ones sexual orientation could result in the loss of family, friends, and even employment opportunities. I discovered that there were limited resources available for LGBTQIA youth during my time, and I lacked role models to look up to.
I sought-after direction and representation in my community. There was a question always asked “What advice would you give to your younger self? I wanted to offer guidance to the younger generation or anyone who is feeling overwhelmed by the weight of the world and is contemplating giving up. At the age of 46, I share my insights and experiences. I strive to demonstrate that regardless of the challenges one faces, with time and proper healing, they can be overcome. Furthermore, there is no set timeline for achieving one’s goals and aspirations.
Our brand mission is to transform the language and terminology we use in our daily interactions and discussions to foster a more positive and inclusive environment.
To know about me is to meet me that is something I strive to show the community. Authenticity at its best. Each individual holds a unique position in society, and it is essential that we approach discussions about people in a respectable manner. If you even woke up this morning and took a step outside that is a story to share. If you finally find the time to read that book and take some time for yourself, it is an accomplishment worth sharing. If you even checked in on someone because they cross your mind that is a story to tell. We are all storytellers and can assist someone near or far in life adventures. We reciprocate even when we least anticipate it.
I give out what was pour into me and that is love. Growing each day and learning something new about myself and others as well, Understanding the riddles of life.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I just moved back home to Newyork City and observed that the night life scene and intergenerational gatherings have experience a decline. There were few individuals who could discuss their role models. If anyoone had observed the significant contributions made by the youth in the community, there appeared to be a division of some sort. I have had the privilege of working in te events industry, organizing gatherings such as clothing, brunches and facilitating resource acquisition for the LGBTQ community. I have utilized instagram as a platform to connect with individuals from New York City and beyond, fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that creativity is not limited by time or age. When the moment arrives, it manifests itself with equal brilliance regardless of the individuals circumstances.
In my twenties, I pursued a variety of accomplishments. In my thirties , I recognized the importance of assisting others in there quest for self- discovery.
I gained a deeper comprehension of the significance of community and the positive impact that resources can have on their growth and development.
