Hi Monica, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to start by getting your thoughts on what you are seeing as some the biggest trends emerging in your industry.

In accounting, the main trends I have seen and utilized in my own firm are technology-based advancements. There are three specific things I can pinpoint:

Cloud-based accounting software has grown in popularity because of its ability to improve collaboration, accessibility and efficiency between a firm and their client. There is no need for client’s to take time out of their day to come into the office or mail documents. Everything needed to complete a project is in one secure location.

AI and automation seem to be everywhere these days but specifically in accounting, it has allowed our team to work more efficiently in terms of data entry and analysis. As accounting professionals, there are new tools we can use to determine a person’s potential tax liability and plan a strategy around it to maximize their savings without the hours of data coming and analysis that used to occur.

Cyber Security should be at the forefront of every accounting firm. As finance professionals, we have access to personal information that requires a number of safeguards to be in place. Cyber threats are only getting more advanced and it is our responsibility to ensure there are strong security measures and protocols in place to protect our clients.

Monica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Greenlight Financial has been operating since 2007 and has expanded its clientele beyond Miami to around the US and various countries, including Mexico, Argentina, Turkey, and the UK. Our firm’s objective is to provide valuable financial services to business owners worldwide, enabling them to make informed decisions that drive successful business growth. Over the last year, I spearheaded the launch of a new division that specifically caters to Music Royalty Accounting. This decision was prompted by our realization that this was an underserved area, with only a limited number of accounting firms offering specialized services in this field.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I believe that our commitment personalized service, availability to clients at their convenience, and most importantly, our team of knowledgeable and reliable finance professionals distinguish us from most accounting firms.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

We get a lot of clients from online sources as we’ve worked hard on our online presence over the years. Referrals are also an important part of bringing in new clients. When you have happy clients, they will refer you to their family and friends.
