Monica, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

Our mission is to unite people around the globe through inclusivity, fandom, passion and knowledge…one fan at a time

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

As a little girl my dad would dress me in matching jerseys and take me to Candlestick Park to cheer on the 49ers. It is there I learned to clap and yell “Touchdown!” Never realizing the memories in the stands and those experiences watching it on TV would become my most heartfelt, cherished lasting memories.

Our father-daughter bond was strengthened over field goals, interceptions, and fumbles. Football became part of the family on Sunday’s, Monday nights and Holidays. Every year we’d look forward to the playoff games that paved the way, “To the Super Bowl,” one of the most watched events around the world.

When my Poppa Joe was diagnosed with cancer it was the game of football that lifted his spirits and always brought a smile to his face before he passed away in 2014. It is my mission to carry on this meaningful tradition to those not lucky enough to learn as child. This amazing game and culture has brought many together. It’s never too late to join the millions of other fans and create lasting memories.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

“Football Is Sexy” is where women talk and teach football. I believed it was time for women to feel seen and heard in the world of football and I also wanted to bring new fans into the space. There is really no where to learn the game if you haven’t had someone in your life who took the time to teach you. I wanted to teach the game to the masses. So they could enjoy all the excitement and memories I had and millions have. Thus, FIS was born. Many people said I was crazy. Women didn’t know football. Men wouldn’t follow our page. People didn’t want to learn. They said don’t do it. You’re crazy. I said, “Watch me.”

How did you build your audience on social media?

Be you. Be authentic. Collab with other pages and find your niche. Find your flow and good things will happen.
