Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Monica Lofstrom. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Monica, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
We have one mission here at EGW, “to move people with a powerful story in hopes that more people globally will support women-led and female-founded companies.” This started as a project to shine on hard-working women who might not have the extra collateral to be featured in a high-end, well-known publication. It all started with our Instagram, offering female founders a platform to share their start-up journey with a segment called “eLLe GLobal Woman Friday Feature. We started growing an incredible community of supportive women supporting one another. Our beloved “Friday Features” was so popular that we knew this passion project would have a more significant global impact if we launched it into a digital magazine.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
The EGW publication is a beautiful dedication to professional women from across the globe. A place where we captivate our audience with the most meaningful and profound stories from female founders, women-led organizations, and the men who passionately create for women. We offer an incredible global publication for women to share their start-up journey and personal life experience of perseverance in the entrepreneurial world.
Over the past several years, we have collected and written the most inspiring and uplifting stories of unstoppable women living in their vision. Weaved throughout our Fall digital issue are the beautiful one-on-one relationships we have built through years of interviews with the women we have featured—a collection of purposeful and inspiring stories from all professions.
We’re unique because we offer a global platform built one woman at a time, building a top-notch reputation that every women-owned and led business will have the same opportunity to have their story told without the high costs of a more extensive publication. We cultivate a positive environment of uplifting content and ways we can champion women. Our clients want to stand out, and they are never lost in a sea of advertisements or their story re-shaped for the voice of other publications.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Every woman deserves to have her voice heard, her story told, and what it took to get her company off the ground; we do just that!
This is an undying mission for myself and EGW Global Magazine.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
We built our social media one woman at a time, giving space for women in business and female founders to authentically share their stories. Every article and profile feature we have done through our social media platforms has personally been vetted and interviewed by me. I have interviewed over 300 female founders in 30 different countries. This is pretty incredible!
