Monica, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Success takes consistency, you have to continuously apply effort to whatever it is you want in life. Success doesn’t happen overnight and I think a lot of people have been conditioned to believe it does. You have to put in work.
Monica, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the owner and operator of Giants Vending Solutions, LLC. Giants is a full service vending machine business serving the DMV area. We offer a variety of options to our customers, including healthy and traditional options. Giants is all about providing a convenience to our customers. We handle everything from refilling to maintenance issues. Our customers don’t have to worry about anything. It’s important to provide amazing customer service and that’s what sets us apart from the rest, we strive to provide the best to our customers.
In addition to operating my own vending machines. I am also a teacher.
I am mostly proud of the individuals I have helped with launching their own vending machine business. I have an ebook available that provides step by step instructions on how to launch your own vending machine business. I also offer one on one consultations. The work my students have done is amazing. It makes me proud to watch their growth.
I want my supporters to know that I will always provide real information. I’m all about knowledge. My brand is all about growth. I like to bring my supporters on the journey with me. As I’m learning, they will learn with me. I will never claim to know it all but I guarantee I will never stop learning and growing.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I built my audience by being authentic. I don’t try to follow the crazy trends. I’m more into providing real useful information. There’s a difference between truly learning and just being entertained. My audience wants to learn and I enjoy sharing my journey with them. My advice for those just starting to build their social media presence is to remain focus on your goal. It’s easy to get discouraged or distracted by others. Don’t overthink social media.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn that social media isn’t real & building a successful business does not happen overnight. Social media can make things look real glittery, but we all should know that it’s not. A lot of times it’s the hard work that never gets shown. I had to get comfortable with taking my time with my business.
