What does it take to be successful?
I takes guts! Being an entrepreneur is though work. You have to believe in yourself when no one else does. You have to keep pushing when everything seems to be going the opposite way from what you had originally planned. You have to keep pushing forward. But you cannot give up.

In the quiet town of Hastings, Nebraska, where cornfields stretched as far as the eye could see and the pace of life was unhurried, Monica Garcia dreamed of a life filled with creativity and beauty.

In 2016, Monica decided to turn her passion into a side hustle. With a small kit of brushes and a collection of makeup products, she began offering her services for local events, proms, and weddings. Her reputation for enhancing natural beauty quickly spread throughout Hastings, and she found herself juggling her full time job at an ophthalmology clinic, her family, and her budding makeup venture.

But Monica’s ambition didn’t stop there. In 2020, when the world faced unprecedented challenges due to the pandemic, many businesses faltered, but Monica saw an opportunity. With unwavering determination, she took the leap to turn her side hustle into a full-time career. So she quit her job. “I was so scared! But I had been praying to God for an answer and I felt in my heart that I had to take this leap of faith. Because of not now then when?”

As her business flourished, Monica began to travel for work, showcasing her talents in glamorous locations like New York, Miami, Paris, Toronto, and Punta Cana. She collaborated with renowned photographers and models, proving that someone from a small town could make a significant impact in the beauty industry. How did you build your audience on social media?

Social media is tricky also keeping up with the aesthetics and appearances is hard and doesn’t feel reel.
I’ve learned that being your authentic self the right people will gravitate towards you.

Connecting with your clients. For me it’s important to connect with my clients. I feel more comfortable and it helps me better understand their personal preference making their service experience more personable.
