We were lucky to catch up with Monetia Smothers recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Monetia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
June hasn’t been the kindest to me. A lot of things I planned had many twist and turns, people and scenario switch ups. But, through it all I also see the blessings and the lessons of it all. I recognize that God has been with us the whole time. And though it didn’t work out exactly how I may have visioned it definitely still happened. Which allows me to know everything takes persistence and patience. And to never give up on your goals. We may fall down but we get up!

My name is Monetia Smothers. I am a model
and actress. And Ceo of an entertainment media company. The industry I have gravitated to is modeling or marketing and advertising. This means companies pay me to promote there products fashion or beauty products. My brand as Ms exquisite Fullfigure Ga 2018. I also, look forward to encouraging women and young girls to be comfortable in their own skin. We don’t need to be the size 0 or size 2 to be beautiful. God didn’t make everyone that size. S/o to the size 0 and size two but we are also beautiful as fullfigure women or curvy women as well.
Also my tv channel in Roku channel stores around the world and installed in Roku tv’s. Find us in the channel store. called Armani Red Int. (Same way you download Netflix)Also solves the issue of exposure internationally. We give creators the opportunity to be in a tv channel and have there brand promoted, marketed or streamed. We are different from Tubi because we allow people to also promote commercials and shorts. And we also can have events and stream media events around there creative. I am most proud of the way my kids and I have grown and stay humble throughout our challenges and still maintain our business growth.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
In my opinion what society can do to best help artists and creatives is to not ignore or criticize the ones who are just trying to get where you are. I think it’s important to help those who you see as sincerely trying to make it. The gossip and negativity in the industry can become overwhelming to some. Learn to be more of an encouragement to others instead of a distraction. Help if possible. I understand we all have our goals but if it’s not going to take away from what your doing is it anything wrong with helping another succeed?
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to leave a legacy for my family. It’s not about me it’s about there future. Of course I would like to make money doing it. Because, we still have to survive in this world while we are here. But, most of all the goal is to help others and to have something your family can live comfortably. Build something like an insurance investment for them. That’s the goal the mission and the purpose. People sometimes take you for granted that you’re just doing things to be seen. No. it’s not about being seen it’s about building something substantial building a foundation a stable ground for your family to stand on so they can live there dream
