We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Monet Johnson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Monet below.
Monet, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I want to be remembered as a positive public figure and fashion influencer in my community. I want to be remembered for my love of fashion, my leadership skills, creativity and for the lives I’ve impacted. My goal is to motivate others, help them tap into their self confidence and step outside their comfort zones.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am over the brand Jacksonville Fashion Week & Events and Danielle Monèt Sandals& Accesories – Shoes& Apparel (DMSA). Not only do I organize fashion shows and events but I also have my own clothing brand I’ve been growing since May 2020 originally in Miami, Florida and now migrated to my hometown, Jacksonville, Florida. Supporters of these brands come from all over the country despite being based locally in Florida. With the unwavering support from fashion lovers everywhere I travel often to create interpersonal connections with supporters for example: New York Fashion Week, Los Angeles Fashion Week , Miami Swim Week , etc.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
Contrary to popular belief Jacksonville Fashion Week & Events (JFWE) is not a sponsored event. All resources for the shows and events are funded from my personal bank account. All tickets sales and fees for participating aid with a bigger production.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I am often asked how I gained so many followers on my social media accounts. The answer is simple: become more involved in your community. As a child I’ve always been active in sports and organizations that introduced me to many people. Early on in high school I accumulated over 4,000 followers on instagram prior to beginning college where I’d be exposed to a much bigger campus of students and eventually friends to network with. Other than school organizations and sports I made sure to attend fashion and influencer events that allowed me to grow and meet people with similar interests. Collaborating with other influencers and joining live videos are a much quicker way to also grow your audience on social media. I’ve had the opportunity to be reposted by The Boss Palace and The Model Experience, two major fashion and beauty brands with an audience of over 100,000 followers. Don’t be afraid to ask people to follow you, create business cards and stay active at events that relate to your niche!
