We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Molly Watts. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Molly below.
Alright, Molly thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Coming up with the idea is so exciting, but then comes the hard part – executing. Too often the media ignores the execution part and goes from idea to success, skipping over the nitty, gritty details of executing in the early days. We think that’s a disservice both to the entrepreneurs who built something amazing as well as the public who isn’t getting a realistic picture of what it takes to succeed. So, we’d really appreciate if you could open up about your execution story – how did you go from idea to execution?
The idea of opening my own business at 22 years old; during my 3rd year of undergrad…with a 6 month old! The idea came about slowly I’d say. I had an internship doing social media management for a small business owner. I thought the idea of opening a business was super cool; I’d work for myself, be able to do what I want and just be my own boss. But then the scaries would creep in… “what if you fail?”, “how are you going to do this while being in school?”, “Am I going to be able to support myself financially”? You name it, the thought has crossed my mind. As I mentioned, I was in undergrad when I opened my business. I have my Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University of Florida and throughout my time there, my electives had something to do with social media. I loved it. These were my favorite courses and I knew this was something I wanted to do outside of college. Okay so back to how I actually started…my cousin (who is an amazing photographer in Northern Virginia- @sarahdrewryphoto on IG) shared her virtual assistant info with me, who had a 6 week mentorship to help the initial set ups of opening your LLC, branding, gaining clients, working with clients, etc. I don’t believe she offers the mentorship anymore (@itskayleeyoung_ on IG) but don’t quote me on it!! Anyways, I took her mentorship and truthfully I give her the credit of really helping me set up the logistics. While I definitely had to learn more along the way (and still am continuing learning) she has definitely put me in the right direction when I didn’t know much!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
As you read, Molly Christine Creatives came about during my third year of college. I attended the University of Florida and took some social media courses as electives. I really enjoyed those classes and started thinking about pursuing it as a career post-grad. So, in fall 2022 and in my last year 1/2 in college, I opened my LLC.
Today, I serve the wedding community working with wedding creatives as a social media manager and as a wedding content creator. I serve wedding couples all throughout Florida and hoping to expand in states like Alabama, the Carolinas, Tennessee and continue to grow my wedding content creation business in Georgia!
I first want to briefly touch on my social media management. MollySocials is completely remote for myself + my clientele! I have clients here in Florida all the way to California and Iowa! My management roots from a framework I’ve created and tested throughout my clients and that is, “Captivate, Convince, Convert”. With this framework, it takes prospects through the sales funnel via social media posts.
Now for wedding content creation, I’ve been capturing couples for over a year and it is most definitely my favorite aspect of my business! BTSByMollySocials is rooted in captivating the raw, intimate and real moments of your day! I have a keen eye for aesthetics as well and am always capturing the day with an aesthetic point of view while of course, keeping your content full of raw emotion. Wedding content creation has blown up with popularity in the past year, and I see it growing more and more! As your wedding content creator, you get all the raw footage through a shared album link with ready-to-post highlight videos and so much more! All of the details can of course be found on my website, too!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Honestly, posting and engaging with your community that comes along!! It’s 2025; social media and content creation is so relevant for everyone. As for some advice for those who want to start their growth on social media is to be authentic, show your personality, if you’re growing a service or product business, continue to keep your ideal audience/buyer in mind when you post! If you’re wanting to grow your personal brand and become an influencer and whatnot, again show your personality and who you are but also, your content should circulate on the people who follow you; why are they going to press that follow button? Are you helping other photographers with tips and tricks? Is your audience other moms who want a community?
Also, social media is HUGE on search engine optimization (SEO) so your captions and hashtags should have those keywords that your prospect would search.
Once you continue to post and target your community you want, start intentionally engaging (liking, commenting, sharing) with others! And last but not least, and super important is patience!! While other accounts may take off and have a following and community, like many others it takes time, patience and real dedication :)

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
This is a good question! It boils down to my clientele and other creators in the social media management & wedding industry! As for my management clients and wedding clients, you have to know what you’re doing, ha! Many of my social media clients and wedding couples are sent via referrals! Both from other vendors and couples. Word of mouth goes a long long way in almost every industry so know what you’re doing, be kind and professional and I promise that will get you somewhere!
