We recently connected with Molly Sanchez and have shared our conversation below.
Molly, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you take vacations? How do you keep things going – any advice for entrepreneurs who feel like they can’t step away from their business for a short vacation?
You should definitely do it. Corporations aren’t your friends, you owe them hard work for the hours they pay you for and if they offer vacation time they owe you that time. There aren’t any prizes at the end of your life for how much of your personal well being you sacrificed for the altar of commerce. But there are rewards for stepping back for a sec, getting rest or inspiration and coming back fresh.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I went to school for Journalism which taught me to work fast, research thoroughly and ask the right questions. I also have been a stand up comedian for 15 years. That taught me confidence, communication skills, and how to read the room. I believe in bringing all parts of yourself to a job because it opens you up to more interesting opportunities where you get to use your favorite parts of your brain.
Now I work in game copywriting and content strategy, and it’s so refreshing because it feels like for the first time I’m challenged to be funny on the clock. And as a result I think I’m turning our the best copywriting work of my career.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Making people laugh and getting to write the world the way you’d like it to be.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
For the love of god stop outsourcing creative to AI. It’s insulting and unproductive.
