Gala and Jaime, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?

We believe that to be successful we must be methodical and organized. Having a scheduled task list and, despite the results, always sticking to it. Also, innovating and constantly having new ideas, or designs.

Gala and Jaime, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We are Mokusai Estudio. We specialize in designing and producing furniture and spaces, creating comfortable, high-quality, and modern environments. Most of our designs are intended for home or office use. All our furniture follows the same line of oriental and minimalist style. We craft them using different woods such as guatambú, peteribí, and paraíso. “Mokusai” means wood in Japanese, which is why all our designs are named after different cities in Japan. All our products are handmade, and since wood has different grains, they may feature natural markings or cracks. We focus heavily on providing the best attention and product experience to all our customers. We also offer personalized services and custom designs.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

Mokusai started 4 years ago, when the pandemic began. It was a time when we were locked down, and we decided to create the brand. Gala, who is an Industrial Designer, and Jaime, who is an architect, came together. Two siblings who joined their creativity to create a unique brand with which you can furnish your entire home, your offices, or commercial spaces.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

We have several strategies to gain more customers. The first and primary one is to provide a unique and high-quality product. The second is to offer excellent customer service throughout the entire process, from initial contact to after-sales support. Both the first and second strategies help in encouraging repeat customers and referrals. The third strategy is to run effective marketing campaigns.
