Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Moira Carder. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Moira, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
The legacy that I am hoping to build will be the relationships that I made with my clients. There is so much more about just taking photos that makes you special/creative. It’s the continuous bonds you build and the events you show up for. I am hoping that if I can give back, show up and be kind always, that people will remember that. I can always capture events, but who I am to another human being means more to me especially in this day and age. I want each photoshoot and every interaction I have with another business, client or stranger for them to always leave happier than they came.
Moira, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a 27 year old business owner, photographer. I shoot a little bit of everything, but my niche is weddings/elopements and where I find the most creativity. I think what sets me apart from other photographers is the person that I am, and who I want to be remembered for. But I also take a lot of pride in the ideas, creative structures that I have that I believe are different than everyone else. I have rebuilt my business from the ground up after a divorce and a rebrand. Coming back from one of the lowest points in my business and life was probably something that I am most proud of. The strength and determination to tell myself nothing will hold me back. This dream is mine and how do I make it a reality and work for it every single day to make this my life full time.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to capture big moments in people’s lives. The Mission for me is my clients and people in general. Everyone has a story to tell and I love being able to capture it and help tell those stories all within the creativity behind the lense.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Networking, Networking, Networking. This has allowed me to meet so many amazing people and they have referred me to others in their life and network as well. This is also an amazing way to lean on and grow with business owners around you. If you ever stop learning, you aren’t succeeding. I always want to be better, for myself and my clients and that takes a lot of behind the scenes working with others and learning from them. The growth in knowledge within business and photography will exponentially grow your clientele.
