We were lucky to catch up with Mohamed Sahid recently and have shared our conversation below.
Mohamed, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
The willingness to fail and take risks. Embracing the feeling of falling. Keeping firm faith in God and his plan for you regardless of temporal circumstances.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a first generation American Creative Director and Designer working across Art, Fashion, and Technology disciplines. I mainly assist artists and brands translate their vision through the form of products, language, and cultural experiences curated under a minimalist and design-focused lens.
Our approach to design and product is centered around the human experience. Ideas like biomimicry and building things that bring us closer to our natural state are often in the conversation during work with clients. So much of media, art, and product today take us further away from nature, and we like to make things that find harmony between the two.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Believing there was a structure or specific way creativity needed to be approached. The more I work and learn through collaboration – and seeing “under the hood” of some of the world’s biggest artists and brands, you realize, everyone is figuring it out.
There’s no right way, just the way of the moment. Learning to follow intuition and your gut is more important than anything – especially when working on the intangible. The greatest lesson I learned this year is knowing the right moment to stop thinking and let the magic lead you.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of working in the arts and building product is this ongoing conversation. Creation is a life long collaboration and discussion where you can insert different ideas, backgrounds, creatives, and specific cultural touchpoints to make unique moments. Collaborating with friends and finding ways to spotlight and highlight important voices, often overlooked by social or internet culture, is a rare art that I find rewarding and usually worth the risk.
