We recently connected with Mogul Marz and have shared our conversation below.
Mogul , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
So Marz is a derivative of my last name, (Marshall). I am big on legacy and understanding the importance of maintaining the reputation associated with that name for many reasoning. So for me, adopting the name as an alias early on was not something I had to give much thought to, just being honest.
However, as time went on and various opportunities presented themselves, I started taking things more seriously as far as brand building is concerned and the foundation I wanted to set. I am centered around the concept of simplicity, and using single-word adjectives that reflect the essence of a brand or individual when it comes to branding. This led me to the term “Mogul,” which accurately describes how I perceive myself and what I aspire for the brand to represent. Being abled to be in any room and provide some type of value or skill set has always been important to me. This is how the names Mogul Marz and MogulMarzStudious came into existence in its most simplest form.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am a versatile creative and entrepreneur who engages in various creative disciplines such as music production, videography, photography, and graphic design. My company, MogulMarz Studios, is a studio dedicated to content creation, graphic art, and production. We assist and oversee commercial and small brand/businesses in the music and entertainment, fashion, athletic, and podcast industries. Additionally, I am a member of a creative lifestyle collective called PRSTNE (pronounced “pristine”).
I don’t want to sound cliché, but it feels like being a creative was a natural choice for me. My approach to creativity is deeply rooted in my personality. I tend to easily get bored with things, which is why I enjoy wearing many hats and exploring various creative outlets.
Music production initially started as a hobby that always interested me, but it gradually became a way to cope with everyday life. It provides me with a sense of peace, similar to how a rapper documents their life or thoughts. My approach to music production reflects this, and the vibe of my music is a direct result of that.
Videography, photography, graphic design, creative directing, merchandising, and other creative endeavors have allowed me to continue working in a creative space while also networking and bringing other people’s visions to life. It has also given me the opportunity to create content without relying on intermediaries, which is especially important in our digital age.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My family will always be my “why”. Wanting my pops to see what his son has built while still here drives me. Wanting to give and provide things for my mother she couldn’t get or do herself drives me. Being able to have the capital and resources to provide my sister when needed for her entrepreneurial endeavors or just general lifestyle drives me. Being the first to create true generational wealth for not only my future family, but even my loved ones and their families long after I’m gone drives me. So these are the reasons why I go so hard and make sacrifices if not daily, weekly.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative has to be being able to take an individuals vision and bring it to life. The look of excitement or overjoy is always fulfilling. Especially when it’s a collaborative process and you are abled to have your own twist or authentic style placed on the entity.
