Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mo Regalado. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Mo, thanks for joining us today. So, let’s imagine that you were advising someone who wanted to start something similar to you and they asked you what you would do differently in the startup-process knowing what you know now. How would you respond?
If I were starting over today, knowing everything I know now, there are three big lessons I’d take with me:
First, I’d understand that this is NOT a paycheck. When you step into entrepreneurship, you’re not just working for yourself—you’re running Me, Inc. Shoutout to Rod Santomassimo and his book Knowing Isn’t Doing for putting that mindset into words. It’s a shift from employee to CEO, and that change in thinking impacts everything—how you manage time, how you make decisions, and how you value your own work.
Second, I’d learn how to pay myself the right way. Revenue is not the same as income. Just because money is coming into your business doesn’t mean it’s money in your pocket. There’s a smart way to structure how you pay yourself while reinvesting in your business—and I wish I had understood that from day one.
Lastly, I would never devalue my services. When you start out, it’s easy to think, If I just charge less, I’ll get more clients. But undervaluing your work doesn’t just hurt your bottom line—it attracts the wrong kind of clients, the ones who don’t respect your expertise. Pricing yourself appropriately from the start isn’t just about money, it’s about positioning yourself as the professional you are.
Entrepreneurship isn’t easy, but if I had these three things locked in from the start, I would have built MoVO Media Marketing faster and smarter.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Mo Regalado, the founder of MoVO Media Marketing, and my passion is helping busy Commercial Real Estate professionals build their brand and stay top of mind on social media—without the overwhelm.
How I Got Started:
I didn’t start out in marketing. I actually got my start in radio in 2004. Fast forward 21 years and what I learned in radio has worked well for social media: creating community even when you can only “hear” the voice on the other end of the speaker. Whether in a studio or on the other side of the screen, I learned how to bring people into my world and create a space for them.
I’ve always had is a knack for storytelling. I saw firsthand how many professionals struggled with staying consistent online—not because they didn’t want to, but because they simply didn’t have the time or strategy. That’s where MoVO Media Marketing was born: to bridge that gap and give professionals a way to show up, stay visible, and build relationships online without it feeling like another full-time job.
What We Do & How We Help:
At MoVO Media Marketing, we take social media off your plate while making it work for you. We provide:
→ Social media management – So you can stay active on LinkedIn, Instagram, and beyond without spending hours online.
→ Content strategy & creation – So you’re not just posting, but building a brand that attracts opportunities.
→ Website design & automation – So your online presence is not only strong but also works for you 24/7.
→ Podcast production & repurposing – Because your expertise shouldn’t live in just one format—it should be amplified across multiple channels.
Our clients are high-performing Commercial Real Estate professionals—brokers, developers, and investors—who understand the power of brand visibility but don’t have the bandwidth to handle it themselves. We help them show up online consistently, stay relevant, and ultimately turn social media into a lead-generating machine.
What Sets Us Apart?:
What makes MoVO different? We’re not just content creators. We’re strategists.
Anyone can post. But posting without a strategy is just noise. We focus on your unique voice, your industry, and your goals to craft a content plan that actually moves the needle. Our approach is hands-on, tailored, and deeply rooted in what works in CRE.
Plus, we understand the importance of personal branding. People don’t just do business with companies—they do business with people they like, know, and trust. That’s why we help our clients showcase their expertise in a way that feels authentic while keeping them top of mind.
What I’m Most Proud Of:
I’m most proud of the results our clients get—not just in followers, but in real business growth. When I hear a broker say, “A client found me because of my LinkedIn posts,” or “Because someone saw my content, they referred me to a new prospect,” that’s the win.
Beyond that, I’m proud that we make social media feel doable for people who have traditionally ignored it. We take the stress out of showing up online and help our clients build a brand that lasts.
What I Want You to Know
MoVO Media Marketing exists to help CRE professionals leverage social media in a way that actually grows their business—without the frustration, without the guesswork, and without wasting time.
If you’re in commercial real estate and you know you need to be more visible but don’t know where to start, let’s talk. You focus on closing deals—we’ll make sure the right people know about you.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The Lesson I Had to Unlearn: Doing Sh*t I Hate
Gary Vaynerchuk changed my entire perspective when he said—and I’m paraphrasing here—“Stop doing sh*t you hate.” That hit me hard.
We’re conditioned to believe that if we struggle with something, we need to fix it. If you’re bad at it, just try harder. Push through. Get better. But here’s the truth no one tells you: You’re always going to suck at things you hate—because you hate doing them.
For the longest time, I thought I had to be good at everything to succeed. I would force myself to sit down and grind through tasks that drained me, thinking, If I just work harder at this, I’ll get better. But all that did was take time away from the things I was already good at and actually loved doing.
The real boss move is leaning into your strengths and bringing in people who excel at the things you don’t. It’s not about “fixing” yourself—it’s about focusing on what you do best and building a team that fills in the gaps.
Once I embraced that, everything changed. I stopped wasting time on things that weren’t in my zone of genius, and instead, I doubled down on what I was great at: strategy, storytelling, and helping CRE professionals build their brand online.
The result? My business grew faster and smarter—and I actually enjoy what I do every day.
So here’s my advice: Stop forcing yourself to do sh*t you hate. You don’t have to be great at everything—you just have to be great at what you do and surround yourself with the right people to handle the rest. That’s how you win.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The Best Source of New Clients? Referrals, Word of Mouth & Client Wins.
Hands down, the best source of new clients for me has been referrals, word of mouth, and client success stories—straight from their own mouths.
When your work actually delivers results, people talk. And when they talk, the right people listen.
I don’t spend my time chasing cold leads or convincing people that social media matters. My best clients come from others who’ve seen firsthand what MoVO Media Marketing can do. A broker who closed a deal because of their LinkedIn content? They tell their colleague. A client who went from invisible online to being the go-to expert in their market? They share their experience.
That’s how this business grows—by making sure every single client isn’t just satisfied, but so successful they can’t help but tell others about it.
And let’s be real—there’s no better marketing than a trusted recommendation from someone who’s already won because of what you do.
