Hi MKeba Evone, thanks for joining us today. Do you wish you had waited to pursue your creative career or do you wish you had started sooner?

I am extremely happy that when I started my acting career sooner it did not work out. I have learned so much that has definitely benefited my career. The things that I know now I did not know then which would have been a disservice to my career.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am an actress currently residing between Atlanta and Los Angeles. I am also a realtor, a mom and a dog mom. So, I wear many hats. I got my introduction into acting at the young age of 5 in theatre. Since then, I have always known that the stage/screen is where I belong. I love storytelling and I think it’s a beautiful thing. Being an actress allows me to tell a story that appeals to the senses and the emotions of the audience that can deliver a message that can last a lifetime.

Being an actress is challenging. You have to develop thick skin and prepare yourself for hearing no a lot more than yes. I will say that I am most proud of myself for being able to remain consistent, patient and not entertaining the thought of giving up because that is not an option for me.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

I grew up in a small town called Gretna, VA. It was unheard of to think that one could be a working actress. To think about acting and being on television was like living in a fantasy world. So, for me I want to be able to give back to my community and one way of doing that is to be able to show other young people like myself that whatever your dreams are you can achieve. I want to show others that self-belief and determination can take you far, regardless of where you come from. All you have to do is be dedicated to your passion and never allow anything or anyone get in your way. Anything is possible and we must always keep that thought in the forefront of our minds.

Seeing someone who looks like you or who has a similar background can be inspiring and motivational. Representation and relatability play a crucial role in inspiring individuals to pursue their dreams and reach their full potential. I want to be that person that others can use as the motivation needed to keep going.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is bringing a story to life that will bring about emotions in the audience. Being an actress allows me to touch the hearts of viewers and help them to connect with the characters and the narratives that I portray. Being able to resonate with someone on a deep emotional level is an extremely powerful aspect of acting. It allows for the creation of a strong bond between the audience and the story that is being told. Embracing the beauty of storytelling and the impact it can have on others is the beauty of acting.
