MJ, appreciate you joining us today. Can you tell us a story about a time you failed?

Last year I went through a rollercoaster of experiences. From losing friends to losing my car still trying to juggle my career and be a mother. Then I lost a close friend towards the ending of the year and that took a huge toll on everyone including myself as well.
The beginning of the year I fell out with a close friend and that changed my whole outlook on the world and on people. I’m very cautious about who I trust and who I let in And I love with purpose now.
Then My car got stolen Feb. 10, 2024 in Gary, Indiana at a club I was performing at that night as opening act. That hurt me, my pride, and my finances. It took me a while to accept it but got up and started to handle my business.
As time progressed I was able to get another car and i was very grateful but not shortly after I got sick with a kidney infection that went to my bloodstream and I was hospitalized for a month. Again another big wake up call and serious situation. I then had to really change my everyday living and my routine to help my health and to keep me healthy for my 2 small children and my career.
Trying to make everything make sense and come together I received another hard situation to deal with. A close friend of mine passed and it really took a toll on my family, my loved ones, and myself. It made me realize we are all we have. Love is the only thing that doesn’t die, and loyalty and life is something that we have to cherish. Because in the end that’s All we will ever have left is each other .

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Ever since I was a young girl I’ve always been musically and artistically gifted. I started singing at the age of 4 and fell in love with the sound. By the time I was 11 I was taking guitar classes so I can play my own melody while I sing. I was also a very artsy kid so I started drawing portraits and pictures around this time as well. Then my twin brother introduced me to Hip Hop/Rap when I was about 14 years old. It started out as a hobby that I enjoyed with my sibling and then we started really taking things serious and started meeting with labels, doing shows at clubs and entering contest and winning just by doing something we enjoyed.
I realized at a very young age I was talented and I needed to be seen , heard, and found by someone in the industry. I knew music was something that was inside of me.
Fastfoward now to being 26 currently and upcoming artist out of Chicago, IL and I’m proud with the dedication I am putting in this year to further my career. This year I will be giving more versatile music from a few different genres and there will be more visuals and social media interactions from me. All my current support knows the love is always there and to my future support I’m here to stay !

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

I’ve always been so big on “why” when in reality you don’t always get an answer and you have to be prepared to be okay with that.

I use to always wonder why some people are not good people or why would they do that to me or treat me that way. But life isn’t always fair and once you know the difference and can put yourself in positive rooms with positive strong minded people what’s understandable doesn’t have to explained.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

My car situation alone this year really showed me I can do anything I put my mind to. First car was stolen in Feb in Gary, Indiana. My Second Car I bought August 1, 2024 the engine blew Nov. 14, 2024. I bought a new Land River Discovery Dec. 20,2024 and was still able to make sure Christmas , bills, and everyday living was maintained. I feel like I am capable to conquer whatever life throws my way and my hustle and strive to succeed is unmatched. I am a warrior.
