We recently connected with Miya Brown and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Miya , thanks for joining us today. Too often the media represents innovation as something magical that only high-flying tech billionaires and upstarts engage in – but the truth is almost every business owner has to regularly innovate in small and big ways in order for their businesses to survive and thrive. Can you share a story that highlights something innovative you’ve done over the course of your career?

Starting my MERCH. The best decision I made . My brand is a platform for all entrepreneurs/ business owners/creatives When I first started my business in 2018, my goal was to create a space for minority entrepreneurs to network and gain business partnerships .During the pandemic ; however , I was challenged to change how I help and network with like minded entrepreneurs. I used my social media platform to interact and also host virtual events during this time . I was asked to think about selling merchandise , but I declined because I didn’t see the vision on what it could do for my brand . Later, I decided to go for it– and it’s the best decision I made. My merch consisted of hoodies and t- shirts, which sold out fast . I’m going on my 3rd year now . Our fall merch launches in October 2023 partnering with Out of Hiding Company , founded by Latoya Hill.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Networking Queens Group is based in Texas – a media marketing LLC. I started building clientele providing consultations for business owners . I wanted to shift and expand my business , so I decided to create and host networking events throughout Texas and California . Our merch has sold out every year ; starting from late fall through the winter . We’re excited to launch our redesigned Merch late October 2023.

How’d you meet your business partner?

My new business partner Latoya Hill is an exceptional woman who is called to serve. I’ve known here for more than 25 years. She is the founder of Out of hiding , a company that specializes in clothing apparel.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?

Honestly when you first start a business you have to have money to make profit . How do you do that ? Normally, most entrepreneurs if they do not have an investor or sponsor , it’s normally out of their own savings . Currently, my company is at the stage of strictly collaborating with other businesses to create events. This year I made the decision to focus on our MERCH brand and continue to grow on all social media platforms.
