We were lucky to catch up with MIXAURINA recently and have shared our conversation below.

MIXAURINA, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.

One of the most meaningful projects I’ve had the privilege of working on this year was curating two women empowerment events, the Galentines Gala and What’s Tea?. These events were not just gatherings but vibrant celebrations designed to inspire, empower, and connect women in the Atlanta Metro Area.

For the Galentines Gala in February, I assembled an incredible all-black female team, including a host, photographer, decorator, chef, and bartender. The response was overwhelming, with tickets selling out two weeks prior to the event. On that special evening, women from diverse backgrounds came together, dressed in elegant gowns, to eat, fellowship, and have fun. We created an atmosphere where they could dance, drink, take pictures, and make unforgettable memories.

The subsequent event, What’s Tea?, was a unique twist on the traditional tea party. It seamlessly blended networking and information-sharing, catering to women striving to achieve specific goals in various areas of their lives. I curated a panel of five exceptional female professionals who shared insights on success in health and fitness, career or business, finances, and relationships. The event fostered quality conversations and connections, creating a powerful impact. To enhance the experience, I collaborated with talented female vendors, performers, a poet, and a singer, who showcased their incredible talents. The events held at BRUSHED Studios in Mableton, GA, not only provided a platform for empowerment but also supported local talent and businesses.

These projects were deeply meaningful to me because they represented more than just successful events. They symbolized the power of community, collaboration, and the impact we can create when we come together with a shared purpose. Witnessing women connect, learn, and celebrate their achievements reinforced my belief in the transformative power of uplifting and empowering one another.

I look forward to continuing to create and contribute to projects that make a positive difference in the lives of others.

I’m MIXAURINA, a Gwinnett-based DJ, and I’m thrilled to share my journey and passion with you.

My venture into the world of DJing was a natural progression fueled by a profound love for music. Over the years, I’ve honed my skills to deliver an unforgettable and eclectic sound that has become my signature as a DJ. Based in Gwinnett, I take immense pride in serving clients throughout the Atlanta Metropolitan Area.

Specializing in celebratory private events such as birthday parties, baby showers, and weddings, I find joy in being an integral part of my clients’ milestones and memories. What sets me apart is not just the music I play, but my ability to read the room, curate the right vibes, and keep things harmonious. It’s not just about playing tunes; it’s about creating an atmosphere that resonates with the essence of the occasion.

My favorite genres to spin include hip-hop, R&B, reggae/dancehall, Afrobeats/Amapiano, and house, ensuring a diverse and energetic musical experience for every event. Whether it’s a joyful celebration or an intimate gathering, I tailor my sets to suit the unique tastes and preferences of my clients.

In addition to private events, I’m passionate about contributing to the vibrant DJ community in Atlanta. You’ll often find me at public events, collaborating with other talented DJs, and broadening my horizons. Networking and connecting within the industry not only fuel my own creative growth but also contribute to the rich tapestry of Atlanta’s music scene.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?

Absolutely! My creative journey as MIXAURINA is fueled by a clear mission and ambitious goals. My primary mission is to provide my audience with an unforgettable experience marked by fire transitions and vibrant energy. I want each event to be a positive journey that lingers in the memories of those who experience it.

Looking ahead, I aspire to take the MIXAURINA experience beyond the borders of Atlanta, aiming for out-of-state and international shows. The prospect of sharing my eclectic sound with audiences from diverse cultural backgrounds and locations is a driving force in my creative journey.

Becoming an official DJ for a major artist is another milestone I am fervently working towards. Collaborating with a prominent artist would not only be a validation of my skills but also a fantastic opportunity to contribute my unique sound to a broader audience.

Travel is a crucial element in my aspirations. I see it as a means to connect with new audiences, explore diverse musical landscapes, and broaden my own creative horizons. I am passionate about bringing the MIXAURINA experience to people beyond the confines of Atlanta, spreading the joy of music to a global audience.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative, particularly as a DJ, is the genuine connection with my audience. It brings me immense joy when people approach me during or after my sets to express their appreciation for my craft and skills. Witnessing the impact of my music on their experience, whether it’s through a dance, a smile, or a nod of approval, is truly gratifying.

Moreover, the sense of fulfillment deepens when individuals take the time to pay their respects to the artistry and effort I pour into each set. It goes beyond the beats; it’s about creating an atmosphere that resonates with people on a personal level.

Equally rewarding is the trust and support that comes with client referrals. When people who have experienced the MIXAURINA vibe recommend me to others, it not only speaks volumes about their satisfaction but also reinforces the sense of community and connection that music can foster. It’s a testament to the power of word-of-mouth in the creative industry.
