We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mitra Javadi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mitra below.
Alright, Mitra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Along with taking care of clients, taking care of our team is one of the most important things we can do as leaders. Looking back on your journey, did you have a boss that was really great? Maybe you can tell us about that boss and what made them a wonderful person to work for?
I was lucky to meet my mentor in my early twenties, little did I know what a life changing impact this person would have in my life and future decisions. He saw something in me that I deep down maybe knew I had, but was too scared to explore. Now in my older days I can look back at it and see how scared I was to fail, and look like a failure to the world. However when I was younger I never wanted anyone to see that side of me, I wanted people to have the picture of me as fearless, confident and unstoppable.
When my mentor took me under his wings and I started to work with him for his company he literally gave me the red carpet to his world, brands that I was dreaming about working with was our clients and people that I looked up to were attending our events.
I remember after our first event that I was so anxious when he called me, because I thought he would tell me all the things that went wrong (that was what I was used to in previous work spaces) but instead he called me to tell me what a great work we did and that he was proud. I was in shock.
Slowly I became the version that I dreamt of, we learned by doing, and this doesn’t mean nothing went wrong. Almost everything always went wrong, but we made it right. As I was growing into my role my vision and interest to execute them grew bigger and stronger as well, there were arguments, blood, sweat and tears but the results were always right were we wanted them even though they weren’t always as we pictured them.
Today we have a company together and work with all different clients together all over the world. What I want you to take with you from this is that who you surround you with is so important, find that person who sees you, who believes in you when things go south, who doesn’t bring you down, the person who gives fuel to your fire so that you can burn bigger and stronger.
I am forever grateful to the moments, coincidences and people that made our paths cross. Sometimes life is funny like that!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am specialized in digital marketing in the hospitality industry. However it started with my love and interest to host events, when I was younger it was more casual such as birthday parties and celebrations. Then when I moved from Stockholm to New York it developed to networking, social events and smaller productions. So at the time when I met my mentor who was working with huge productions for larger brands, I knew the city and I knew the basics, my mentor gave me the tools to take the productions to the next level.
From the combination of our networking gatherings and productions I learned how to include strategic partnerships and I started to work with my own clients as well.
During this time social media was at it’s pike as well, and because I knew all the digital platforms inside out it was another great outlet for us to get even more exposure for our work, our clients and what we did.
With time we could build out our team and that’s were I could take a step back and put even more love into the details, more innovating ideas, more research which made my role more directing. It was all very natural steps because I knew the industry I was working with – If I hadn’t worked in retail I would never had explored my sale techniques, if I hadn’t worked in different restaurants I wouldn’t be as skilled in service, if I hadn’t’ worked in a showroom I wouldn’t know about wholesale and so on. You always learn by doing, and by having a handful of different jobs and clients I learned more and more about my strengths and my weaknesses.
That’s also where (or at least for me) where you learn to say no, when it’s time to move on or even recommend someone else that I know would do the work better. The bigger picture in this process to success have been eternal work on my self, with myself. Because the more I am willing to work on my self (mentally, psychology and physically) the more I can bring to the table, the more I will grow, that is how you get fearless and unstoppable because you know your power. That doesn’t mean every day is glory and without problems, more the opposite, everyday you will question decisions, thoughts, executions, and things will go south but you rarely will do the same misstake twice.
Today I am proud to have my own company and be on the board of another company that I believe highly in and see how I can grow our vision into reality.
We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Before starting my own business I slowly started to take on freelance projects on the side of my fulltime job. Then when I decided that I wanted to try the freelance world I took on another extra job for about a year less or more before I quit my full-time job to make sure I had something to lean on if things would go south. I had a strategy and a budget for every month (which I never followed) however the following years of that learned me a lot and now looking back at it, it was healthy for me to struggle a bit because I learned so much about what my weaknesses and strengths were.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
I remember my business Professor in college introduced me to a book called The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell, it was a book about mythology and how to evolve your consciousness and it became my bible. I became obsessed with human behaviour literature and started to implying the methods in internships and work opportunities. I’m more of a streetsmart then booksmart person, and my professor really paid attention to that and activated a part of me trough these books that I could imply in real world scenarios which made the class so much more interesting for me. I could really feel myself growing in that class!
