We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mital Patel. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mital below.
Alright, Mital thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?
My parents can sit and look back at how the cumulation of thousands of gestures, lessons and experiences they gave to me and my siblings has helped mold us into who we are. As a mom of two, Deven Patel (12) and Milana Patel (9), I have the honor of molding them into young adults. This role has been daunting at times that I have actually thought back to what my parents did right so I can attempt to emulate the same for my kids. Two things about my parents come to mind immediately:
(1) They always lead by example. Their work ethic is second to none and I grew up seeing that 24-7, whether it was in the back of their corner shop in London, or from the manger’s apartment at their Motel in Mississippi. I am a hands-on and visual learner and what I saw growing up was what I tried to duplicate. Having role models like my parents has strengthened my mindset and made my goals far more attainable.
(2) They taught me that imperfections, mistakes and setbacks were necessary in our journey and it was up to me to learn the lessons, reevaluate and get back on track because forward movement and growing towards success were not optional. They showed me adversities came and went, but they always overcame them and now it was up to me to do the same.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started my career as a general practice attorney in 2008. After 12 years as partner with that firm I knew it was time to venture out and start a practice that included all of the experience I had gained over the years, the added experience of my colleague and friend, Julie Eisenhower, but now with a more unique and holistic approach to handling client’s matters. After almost 3 years since the inception of TriAmicus Law, PLLC and with the help of an incredible team, I have been focusing on my business law practice and making strides towards other professional and business goals.
I am very excited about the continued growth of the firm, but in 2022 I have been the proudest of my recent venture as co-owner/sports attorney of SLB The Agency. Watching the diligence, passion and growth created by co-owner, Derrick Furlow, with this agency in such a short period of time has been a gamechanger and now we are able to connect an empowered team of former athletes, current athletes and business owners as they collaborate and create opportunities.
At the core of both of these businesses is a strong desire to educate and connect with the right people. We want to share the journey as it unfolds and reach as many people as possible.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Until late 2018, I kept my professional and personal life very separate. This outdated mindset was due to the misguided belief that separation was necessary to scale my business, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. As a partner with a general practice law firm for 12 years prior to starting TriAmicus Law, PLLC in January, 2020, I realized that the “goodwill” and reputation I had established followed me to my new firm. I realized that as an attorney, I am branding myself and in this new business and digital marketing age the clients want complete transparency, authenticity and accountability before hiring a professional. Scaling up after sharing more of who I am allowed people to relate to me and understand why I am passionate about what I do. Sharing my authentic self via social media platforms or digital marketing opportunities paved the way for significant organic growth in terms clients, referrals and opportunities within the community.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients by far has been referrals. Referrals from former clients or referrals from professionals we network with, friends or colleagues. These referrals are accompanied with built in testimonials prior to even meeting with a client and it sets the tone for the new attorney-client relationship and results in a better overall experience during what is often a difficult time.
