We were lucky to catch up with Misty Oaks Paxton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Misty, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
While I was always fascinated by spirituality and metaphysics, I thought it better to pursue the safety of a legal career–something I could always make money doing. I followed the prescribed plan for many years, only to realize I was stressed, pressured, overwhelmed and miserable the majority of the time.
It was during these stressful times that I was led back to my spiritual practices of meditation, mindfulness, energy work and card readings to bring me peace of mind and calmness of spirit. I started doing card readings for close friends and family, and my passion was set on fire by the downloads I was being given from spirit to share with others. My super supportive husband encouraged me to expand further and share more of my practices with the world. And the more I shared my passions and gifts with others, I noticed that more value was added to their lives, as well as mine. I felt a difference in my own life and the lives of those I worked with and that really encouraged me to share my services with the world.
So I took a risk to do this spiritual, wellness, healing work on a larger scale. Of course, I have faced ridicule and criticism, especially having grown up with a Christian background. My beliefs and practices go against the grain of what I have been raised to accept as true, and many who subscribe to a particular religion view more expansive spiritual practices with disdain. So it is not easy to be judged by those who think their way is the only way. But the journey of self-discovery and self-actualization is not designed to be easy. It comes with large risks that must be taken and large rewards that must be appreciated. I am grateful for it all.

Misty, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
You would normally hire an Attorney to help you navigate man-made, societal laws, but if you’re ready to move beyond the level of self-help to the level of self-healing, you would hire a Spiritual Attorney to help you navigate Universal, spiritual, metaphysical laws. I help my clients not only understand that there are higher laws at work that govern our physical world, but I also help them understand how to use these Universal laws for better results in their life. I counsel them to work with the Universal energy instead of working against it, as most of us are accustomed to doing. So instead of experiencing struggle, strain, and friction in their lives, I coach my clients to invite more ease, flow, and abundance into their lives.
I want the readers to know they are not alone. If they are feeling disenchanted with the status quo, and feeling like the societal norms have become mundane, disheartening, overwhelming, and frustrating, there is hope. If they are feeling like their lost in the sauce of life, there is a better way and there is a Spiritual Attorney to help them make sense of what often feels like a senseless world. We spend so much time and energy struggling against physical matter and getting frustrated when things don’t bend the way we want them to. But I want the readers to benefit by knowing that there is a way for life to become easier, lighter, more fun and carefree and to move closer to your hearts’ deepest desires…and I am here to assist you on that journey.
I do this in several ways. I am a Meditation and Mindfulness Coach and a Spiritual Life Coach, so I work with my clients one on one to dig deep into any issues that may be plaguing them and address them head on from a spiritual perspective. I am an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping) Coach, where I work directly with my clients to unblock their energy centers and re-program their minds for success. I am a certified Kemetic, Naturopathic and Womb Reiki practitioner, which I like to call a massage for your energy. With these services my clients are leave feeling balanced, grounded, and in a peaceful state where they can receive divine downloads of their own. And I am an intuitive card reader (Tarot, Birth, Love & Destiny Cards), through which I provide my clients with clarity and confirmation so that they can make more insightful and intentional choices in their lives that serve the highest good of all involved.
Today, I am most proud that I am living as my authentic self, and that I have answered the call to do this most sacred work on a larger scale. I am most proud that I have worked with hundreds of clients and have received reports from each of them about the miraculous changes happening in their lives as they continue the deeper work of transforming from the inside out.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
The most neccessary tool I use on a daily basis in my line of work is my intuition. Of course I have to be still and quiet enough to hear it, centered enough to decipher it, confident enough to trust it, and bold enough to follow it. But it never steers me wrong and is the thing I rely on most when working with my clients.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
For me, word of mouth is most effective at growing my clientele. The kind of work I do is very intimate and personal, and quite intangible. Energy work, readings, coaching, and all of my other services require individual connection and servicing. So after visiting a client and doing the work together, I rely on the their testimonials and word of mouth referrals to spread the word about how divine their experience was with me.
