We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Misty Chaviers . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Misty below.
Alright, Misty thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
When I started podcasting I honestly just wanted to tell my story I really had no plans at that time for a huge fan base or awards and I didn’t even think that I would have guests.I created the platform because I wanted my voice and my story to be heard.

Misty , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well I survived Domestic Violence when I was just 18years old and for many years I stayed silent only a few people knew what had happened to me in the past.I went through years of self destructive behavior after the abuse as well.So in 2019 I decided that it was past time for me to speak my truth and to tell my story so I created a podcast and the podcast actually turned into a platform for many other survivors and experts to come on and talk about their stories and their knowledge of what Domestic Violence is.It’s a platform where I give victim’s of Domestic Violence resources in case they need some assistance and that way the information is provided to them.I am authentically myself when I speak I am not afraid to just say what’s on my mind. The podcast isn’t edited at all so it’s unique in that way.I want people to be their true selves like their having coffee and a conversation with a friend no worries type feel.I know this much If I can change and save just one life then it was all worth it.I work as an advocate for Domestic Violence services Fulltime that opportunity came from me just doing the work and becoming a victims advocate.I worked hard to get myself out their. I am a woman on a mission full of grit and determination, compassion and love for anyone who’s going through what I went through.I’m a survivor podcast has really helped save women and given them hope, and as long as women are listening then I will continue to record.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I started the podcast I was very sick I was on oxygen due to lupus.I didn’t know weather I would be around another year or so.That’s when I decided to start having my voice heard and then opening up the platform for other survivors has been a huge blessing.I’ve often said the podcast is way bigger than I am.I’ve overcome so many obstacles from abuse,to eating disorders, drugs to homelessness.I know that the human spirit is resilient or I know that mine is.I am now an award winning podcaster and an award winning legal advocate.I get awards for being impactful but to tell you the truth I am very humbled and grateful and blessed just to be alive today doing this work:

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes what drives me is maybe just maybe their will be a young lady listening to the podcast and decides she wants to get away from her abuser and maybe she will grab one of those resources provided and just maybe she will know that there is life after abuse and she can overcome the pain and Trauma she has indured.I am living proof you can Thrive after abuse and you can succeed. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
