We recently connected with Missa Kate and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Missa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Growing up I was a tomboy. I played several sports throughout my life. More times than not I was a year round athlete. Besides that, I had older guy cousins (5 & 6 years older) that I would do everything with; football, baseball, skateboarding etc. Pretty much I was the annoying little girl cousin that infiltrated them & their friends with whatever they did.
One day when I was channel surfing, I came across John Cena. Besides the simple fact of him being a gorgeous hunk of man, I became a fan of his charisma. Maybe a year or so later, I was channel surfing again & came across Lita. In Pro Wrestling Lita was the tomboy that wasn’t scared to take risks or to get in there & fight the guys. Ofcourse I immediately related to her given my background. Between John Cena & Lita, I was hooked.
I looked at Wrestling as this beautifully chaotic love child between athletics & drama. It’s a live action drama.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Luckily I have such a wide variety of a sports background so I was able to adjust to the physicality of wrestling quick. Mixing that with my love for storytelling, I was hooked on Pro Wrestling.
Honestly my favorite part of Wrestling is the storytelling. Being able to entertain people regardless if that’s me making them mad or happy. Just getting people’s minds off of whatever it is they have going on in their lives at that current moment. Then being able to talk to fans after where they say how much fun they had. It means I did my job.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part is knowing I was able to entertain people & put on a show. To the point where I can go to different cities/states and learn they go out of their way to keep up with what I do. Or when they remind me of previous matches I’ve had & what I did in them. When you have goals in mind, you constantly are looking forward. So it’s really fun when fans bring up memories. It reminds me that I am doing what I’ve been setting out to do.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
Go to shows! Or watch our matches where they are streamed at. Comment what you like or even what you don’t like. Follow us on social media & engage. Just overall look for ways to support. There is no gesture to big or to small.
