Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Miss Storm. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Miss, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you learn to do what you do? Knowing what you know now, what could you have done to speed up your learning process? What skills do you think were most essential? What obstacles stood in the way of learning more?
“Being an Artist is a gift most creatives dont ask for it’s as natural to me as breathing but mastering the craft of being a successful creative is a skill that takes time effort and dedication.
“I am a student of life. I believe you should never stop learning”
The entertainment industry is a forever changing business and educating myself on the aspects that impact my ability to monetize is always priority.
It took me ten years to get to this point
I had to force myself to dive into the business side of the game because it was conflicting with my creative mind.
The business and creative process are completely different and requires different levels of discipline.
The most essential skill I’ve learned is to manage my business. Although I am a creative it’s 90% business and once that part is understood its easier to find a happy balance.
Miss, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Miss Storm, I am the Ceo Of
Earkandi Productions llc and The M & M Foundation based out of Atlanta Georgia.
I’m also an award-winning songwriter
“Hip-Hop Soul” Artist and Entrepreneur originally from Northern Ohio.
Music is my preferred language…
Majority of my life I’ve been an artist.
As a teenager I sung gospel and had the privilege to tour with Gospel legends: Kirk Franklin and the Family.
Over the last 15 year’s I’ve been leaving my musical footprints in everything.
Ive contributed to some of your favorite songs I’ve collaborated with some of your favorite Artists and I’m promoting some of your favorite brands.
In my personal life I am a mother and I promote self love black unity and women empowerment. I believe I’m proactively pushing the culture forward in a positive way.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
As an Artist we have the power to transform the atmosphere with our stories our songs and our vision. Knowing that.. I don’t take my role as an Artist or Creative lightly. I pour so much of myself into my work and the most rewarding aspect is when a fan tells me that I’ve inspired them or helped them get thorough trying times.
I spend lots of time and money recording shooting visuals and bringing my thoughts to life and I feel good knowing I’ve created something that will be around long after I’m gone.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
The mind of an “Artist” is complex.
I have unexplainable epiphanies and visions
that transmit into my heart and dreams.
I wake up with ideas songs feelings and perspectives that sometimes I dont even understand because they come from a higher place.
I can be in the same room as a non creative and vibrate on an entirely different wave frequency. It’s a lonely reality if you don’t surround yourself with the proper tribe.
I believe creatives will always be misunderstood by non creatives and thats ok its a personal journey and everyone else dont have to understand that.
I advise my fellow creatives not to take anything personal or feel attacked when it comes to outside opinions pertaining to
“your journey” Walk in your purpose and let everyone else walk in theirs.
