We were lucky to catch up with Miss Bella recently and have shared our conversation below.
Miss, appreciate you joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
My fascination with creating content has always driven me, fueling a deep desire to pursue it on a larger scale. From a young age, storytelling and creativity have captivated me. Video equipment and costumes topped my wishlist every birthday and Christmas. I loved to put on plays for my family and was creating stories before I could read or write. Childhood vacations to Disneyland cemented my appreciation for detail and a love of being transformed to another time. When I found social media websites such as YouTube and Instagram, I felt very inspired to create and share my own style of storytelling on the platforms. So basically, it’s been in my DNA for as long as I remember.
Miss, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am a vintage fashion and beauty content creator and model, with a particular love for the 1950s and 1960s, especially Tiki and pinup aesthetics. In my teen years, I began by experimenting with self-shot videos, emulating the styles of my favorite YouTube creators, and trying out different cameras, styles, and audio techniques. After graduating from University, I used my platform to promote my favorite vintage-inspired fashion and beauty lines, tagging the brands to inspire others with the looks I created. As I continued gaining followers, more brands started reaching out to collaborate, and that’s how my journey truly began. I started to use my social platforms to network and find others who shared a love for vintage style. It is a great feeling knowing I have finally found my vintage loving community who appreciates my creative take on vintage style.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started growing my social media audience by identifying my true passion within vintage style content creation. I discovered that my interests lay in vintage fashion, style decor, and beauty. By honing in on this specific niche, I was able to attract a targeted audience. Additionally, I made an effort to connect and network with established creators whose content I admired and aspired to emulate.
I began prioritizing the consistent production of quality content. I dedicated extra time to ensure each post resonated with my audience and included elements I was genuinely excited to share. This involved uploading more engaging and relatable posts, informative voiceover videos, and eye-catching images. I’ve learned that quality over quantity is essential.
Additionally, I made it a point to engage with my audience and those who support my creative endeavors. I respond to comments, ask questions, and encourage interaction overall. Building an online community is about creating two-way conversations, not just broadcasting content and hoping it takes off. I recommend anyone looking to grow their social media presence to do the same!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Witnessing my creative work being appreciated by others is an indescribable feeling. Sharing my creations fosters connections with those who resonate with my ideas. The opportunity to share and celebrate my work globally is a childhood dream come true. Seeing my vision come to life is immensely satisfying. Being part of a creative online community has offered me support, inspiration, and collaboration opportunities that have profoundly improved my life.
