Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Miriel Bereal. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Alright, Miriel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.

The first cannabis facility I started was in the City of Los Angeles at the beginning of 2018. It was in the middle of ‘The Hood’, on Saint Andrews Place… a place where gunshots can be heard, and graffiti seen. The place I was set to lease was previously a dispensary, prior to “legalization”, and with that location, all things were left intact.. including the patient profiles, the bulletproof glass. Everything. Yet that wasn’t the vision I had for that location.

Behind my space sat many other businesses, and it was in the vision to turn that entire lot into a Seed-To-Sale Licensed cannabis facility. The owner took me on a ‘tour’, going from door-to-door, introducing me to everyone. The first door he brought me to was that of a man named “Toy Hustle”. He barely opened the door, poking his head out, to look at the owner and then me. I smiled, and the owner introduced me, saying i would be renting the Front. I asked Toy, what he did there, and as he would tell it, against his will, he said he’s a ‘manufacture’. That answer, as GOD revealed it, showed me that he was in cannabis too. Today, Toy is the owner of Cannabis & Comedy, Herb Dutchwood and Smokers Best.

Moving on with the tour, the owner brought me to the VERY back, to meet his sons. Two men, who at that time, were operating without cannabis licensing… and they feared, as many did, the issues that come along with the lengthy licensing process or trusting the same government that targeted and incarcerated us at astronomical rates. I told them, it is my desire, for them to be licensed! They laughed, though I was very much serious. Today, they are Licensed.

It was a long process going through the licensing of that facility… one of which almost cost me my life, and ended us up in Court. The process that we had endured was indeed great… though the benefit would exceed the pain. As we see with the construction of many skyscraper buildings, in order to get higher in the sky, they must dig much deeper… for a STRONG foundation to withstand the elements.

When I toured the Brothers facility, I saw that they were Cultivators, and truly had a love for The Plant. They had areas to keep the cannabis plants in the perfect temperature in order for them to grow in an environment that they normally would not have grown in. ‘Urban Farming’ is indeed a gift from GOD… growing a living thing, in such a way, that it brings forth fruit. ‘Growers’ they are called… and they call their Cannabis Plants, ‘Babies’. As they showed me around, we got to the end where their office was. Many people were with me on that tour, yet when we got to this one sign on the wall, it said, ‘Faith’ and i stopped to read it in its entirety… holding up the entourage that was with me. To see/read, the ‘sign’ that my FATHER had there for me. What would seem to be the impossible… going up against the impossible.. to be in such a ‘Dark Place’, yet called to be the Light, would take a great deal of FAITH. Unwavering faith.

That facility today is up and running, with multiple State and City licenses though i am no longer a part of it. What started off as a ‘match made in Heaven’, ended in “War” between my former partners and I. Though… after some time, the War ended with smiles, hugs and joy. We came to an Agreement, before a Judge named Stern and a Mayor named Albert. Many lessons were learned, seeds planted, and friendships created. And for that, I am thankful.

Moving forward, today, I have begun working on a Seed-To-Sale Facility in the City of Long Beach. One that I am 100% owner of, using solely donations and grant funds from City/State to erect. It is set to be an Incubation Hub for those who are looking to enter the Cannabis Industry yet lack the resources required to do so… more specifically focused on those who were impacted by the ‘War on Drugs’ aka the War on People. I have partnered with Non Profits, Construction Companies and Work Ready Programs to finish construction of the Incubation Hub and open this Facility by the Spring of 2025. I have already been issued State Annual Licenses for the Cultivation, Manufacturing and Distribution of Medicinal Grade Cannabis with only the last stages of construction with the City Inspections remaining. What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

That being in Time is all about myself. What pleased me… what made me happy, what i wanted. Selfishness. In a ‘Selfie, Look at Me’ generation. To then learn, that its all about GOD, HIS Will and to point all to HIM.
