Alright, Miriam thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea

My journey as a photographer goes from behind the chair to behind the lens. Photography, in a beautiful way, found me. After working on Newbury Street for over 15 years and knowing how to make someone look and feel good, I started photographing people, and I loved it!

After photographing a few moms with their kids, one of my hair clients mentioned I could photograph and help professional women. That was my “aha” moment. Since I already had the hair and makeup skills, I realized I could offer comprehensive headshot or portrait photography services. Soon, I wasn’t just passionate about making people look good; I was passionate about capturing that look, that confidence, in a way that truly reflected them.

I found myself going deep into the headshot and portrait genre when I discovered “The Portrait Masters” community (spoiler alert: this was during Covid). In 2023, I attended a conference where I dove into workshops, met the masters in person, experienced photoshoots on stage, and tried all the lighting setups. It was the best week of my photography life.

Miriam Meza Photography evolved from a genuine desire to serve. Every session is a celebration of this journey – helping professionals, especially women, put their best face forward with ease and joy.

I got into the photography industry after I decided on buying a DSLR camera for a trip and after that ended I started photographing people

What truly sets me apart is that I personally handle your hair and makeup during the session. With my 18+ years of experience as a hair and makeup artist, I have the skill to ensure you are camera-ready at all times, making sure every detail is perfect so you look and feel your absolute best. My approach is all about solving the common challenges people face when getting photos taken, offering a one-stop, stress-free, and empowering experience. I guide you through every step, ensuring you feel comfortable, truly seen, and confident, which leads to authenticity-driven results that truly connect and resonate. What I’m most proud of is the transformation I see: knowing that every day I deliver a photo session, that person is going out into the world feeling confident to show their new photos, empowered by their images.

My most effective strategy for growing Miriam Meza Photography’s clientele has been deeply rooted in connecting with other women, especially solopreneurs I’ve met at networking groups. I’m a firm believer that when women support each other, we move forward, and that collaborative spirit is at the heart of my client acquisition.

You might be surprised to learn that 90% of my clients come from referrals. This speaks volumes about the trust and relationships I build. Word-of-mouth is incredibly valuable, as satisfied clients confidently share their positive experiences and the exceptional photos they receive. While these personal recommendations are vital, I’m also actively growing my online presence to connect with even more professionals like you, ensuring my services reach those who need a confident, authentic visual presence. This combined approach of nurturing personal relationships and expanding my digital reach has been key to my growth.
