We recently connected with Miriam Graham and have shared our conversation below.
Miriam, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
I came up with the name Nubian Queen Management back in the 1990s. The idea was deeply rooted in identity, legacy, and purpose. I’ve always believed that we come from royalty and that our lineage carries strength, grace, and undeniable power. I wanted the name of my company to reflect that spirit not just in words, but in how I operate: with character, integrity, dignity, and a sense of purpose.
Naming anything, especially a business is incredibly challenging but this was the first name that came to mind. You want something that stands the test of time, resonates personally, and communicates clearly to others what you stand for. Nubian Queen is more than just a name to me; it’s a statement. It was about honoring heritage while building a future. From the very beginning, I envisioned a company that would carry itself with the dignity and confidence of royalty, lifting others up in the process. That’s the story behind the name and it continues to guide everything I do.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Absolutely. I’m the founder of Nubian Queen Management, a company I honestly established by accident, and I know that might sound a little strange. Years ago, I was volunteering my time working with talented kids on a television program in San Diego. I didn’t sing, dance, or play an instrument, but I was passionate about uplifting others and helping them realize their potential. That passion eventually led me into the music industry as a manager. I had a natural eye for talent, and I quickly recognized the need for better representation, especially for female artists. I wanted to build something that honored our heritage, uplifted our voices, and led with integrity.
Nubian Queen Management specializes in talent and business management, creative consulting, brand development, and public relations. Whether it’s guiding artists through the complexities of their careers, helping entrepreneurs build strong, authentic brands, or crafting strategic campaigns, our mission is to empower our clients for long-term success.
After years of managing and consulting artists, I officially expanded into public relations in 2008. What sets me apart is a deep-rooted commitment to integrity, authenticity, and cultural pride. My clients aren’t just names on a roster they’re partners, and some have become family. I treat their dreams with the same care, respect, and determination I’d give my own.
What I’m most proud of isn’t just the success stories it’s the impact. Helping people feel supported, and inspired is what truly fuels me. If there’s one thing I want potential clients, and followers to know, it’s that Nubian Queen Management PR is more than a business. It’s a movement. A celebration of identity. A commitment to excellence, and leading with purpose through God’s will.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe my reputation has been built over time through consistency, character, and a genuine passion for people. I’ve worked with celebrities for over three decades in roles ranging from management and media coordination to setting up interviews and working as a promoter’s assistant. Every experience taught me the importance of professionalism, respect, and honesty.
One thing that has truly set me apart is that I don’t follow trends I follow purpose. As a woman of God, I see my role not just as a publicist or manager, but as someone called to do God’s will. For me, it’s never just about money. It’s about being a blessing and creating opportunities that matter. That mindset has opened doors to work with incredibly talented individuals like Larry Dodson of the Bar-Kays, Lenny Williams, Anthony Hamilton, Julie McKnight, Celebrity Chef Jerome Brown, designer Tamil Robinson, Sir Charles, Calvin Richardson, Johnny Gill, KEM, Jeffrey Osborne, Shirley Murdock, and many others.
People know I lead with integrity, and that I care deeply about the success and well-being of those I work with. That’s the foundation of my reputation, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Under Nubian Queen Management PR, I don’t have a traditional, direct business partner but I’ve built meaningful collaborations with several organizations that I consider partners in purpose. One of the most impactful partnerships I’ve formed is with Joe Mason of Never Stop Entertainment, a respected radio promoter. under BMG record label. What makes our story unique is that we’ve never actually met in person. Right? It sounds unbelievable in today’s business world, but it’s a testament to how the 2019 pandemic reshaped the way we all connect and collaborate.
Despite the distance, Joe and I have built a strong working relationship based on trust, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serving artists. By combining our gifts and networks, we’re able to offer clients a full spectrum of media opportunities from radio placements to podcast features and publication interviews.
I also consider independent media outlets part of my extended partnership network. While many publicists focus only on top-tier, mainstream outlets, I take a different approach. I believe every media platform has value, and I’m passionate about giving underdog outlets access to top-tier talent. After all, every major publication or show started somewhere. Many of these smaller outlets go beyond the surface they dig deeper and offer their audiences an authentic view of the artist as a person, not just a performer. To me, that’s powerful storytelling, and it’s why I love working with them.
