Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Miriam Beato. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Miriam, appreciate you joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
In the realm of mental health, a defining moment can often arise from a personal struggle that transforms one’s perspective and purpose. This moment of crisis prompted a deep reflection on their values and priorities, leading them to seek therapy and prioritize mental wellness practices. Through this journey, i have not only learned the importance of setting boundaries but also discovered the profound impact of vulnerability and empathy in my work. This experience ultimately reshaped my career trajectory, motivating myself to advocate for mental health awareness and self-care among professionals in the field, as well as those closest to me, reminding others that embracing one’s own mental health is essential for helping others effectively.

Miriam, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a women of many talents and goals. I’ve been in the modeling industry for 10+ years. I begin my modeling journey as a way to get out of my comfort zone, as I was once a shy child. Between learning to have self confidence and finding the love for modeling, I also found myself getting lost into what it really meant and how hard it can be for a young women learning about herself through it all, within my years of adulthood and adolescence, I begin to explore many different talents such as belly dance, track and field, being on a professional Bachata Dance Team, pageantry and acting with ECAS Theater. Each activity I’ve done shaped me into the woman I am today. From loving my sport, to finding myself into eating disorders and depression. Through it all, I learned that I can overcome so many obstacles which is where MAB Model begun. I created an environment and model agency not just only for experienced models, but for upcoming models who have never stepped foot into the modeling industry before. It has brought me so many special moments and experiences that I’ll never take for granted.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The biggest I had to unlearn was that not everything is what it seems, and not everything deserves you. As we’re all human, we are build with love and compassion and wanting the best for everyone and everything. Over the years, I’ve learned that you are special and to know you is something you can not take lightly. Boundaries need to be respected and made, and sometimes walking away is the best option for you, even if it’s something you really don’t want to walk away from.

Any advice for managing a team?
Stay true to you. No one knows you best and knows what’s best for you, other than YOU. Nothing and no one can take that away from you.
