We recently connected with Mireia (Mimi) Puig and have shared our conversation below.
Mireia (Mimi), looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
For most of my life, I struggled with hormonal imbalances and menstrual issues. I had symptoms that aligned with PCOS, although I was never formally diagnosed. Every time I voiced my concerns, I was told it was “just part of being a woman” and that I should simply accept it. So I did. For years, I ignored my health. I smoked, didn’t exercise because I never felt well, and although my diet wasn’t terrible, it definitely wasn’t supporting my body the way it needed.
At the same time, I felt lost professionally. I knew I wanted to help people, but I had no clarity on how. I tried different paths, but nothing truly clicked until I discovered meditation. That was my turning point. Meditation taught me how to listen to my body, and it opened the door to the world of holistic wellness.
From there, everything began to shift. I quit smoking, started exercising, and completely transformed the way I ate. I enrolled in holistic nutrition studies and began diving deep into women’s health. As I applied everything I was learning, I began to heal and my symptoms improved dramatically. I finally felt in tune with myself. That’s when I knew I wanted to help other women experience the same transformation. It felt like everything aligned, and I found my purpose and passion along the way as well.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I’m Mimi, I’m originally from Spain, but I’ve been living in Canada for over 12 years. I’m a Licensed Holistic Nutrition Practitioner and the founder of Nutristica, a space I created to support women who, like me, have felt dismissed, misunderstood, or unheard when it comes to their health.
My journey into holistic health began with my own struggles. For years, I dealt with an irregular menstrual cycle, weight fluctuations, acne, PMS, polycystic ovaries, painful and heavy periods, and intense breast tenderness. Most of these symptoms aligned with PCOS, yet I was never formally diagnosed. Every time I sought help, I was told it was just part of being a woman. The only solution offered was the birth control pill, which gave me side effects and left me feeling even more disconnected from my body. I felt frustrated and dismissed by the healthcare system and eventually gave up on seeking help.
Everything shifted when I discovered the world of holistic wellness. I began studying holistic nutrition and immersed myself in research, especially around women’s hormonal health and PCOS. I started applying what I was learning to my own life and the results were transformative. My cycles became regular, my symptoms significantly reduced, and I felt empowered for the first time in years. That healing inspired me to help other women to do the same.
At Nutristica, I offer personalized 1:1 consultation packages (1-month, 2-month, and 3-month options) where I work closely with each client to uncover the root causes of their symptoms and build nutrition and lifestyle strategies tailored to their unique needs and goals.
I also created the Hormone Reset Detox, a 10-day program designed to support the body’s natural detoxification pathways, not through restriction or starvation, but with nourishing, real foods and holistic tools. Detoxification is essential in reducing toxic buildup that interferes with hormone balance and impacts conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, perimenopause, menopause, fertility issues, fibroids, chronic inflammation, and more.
What sets me apart is my root-cause approach and the deeply personalized support I provide. Conventional medicine often treats symptoms in isolation, I look at the whole picture. Every woman’s body and life are different, so I adapt recommendations to their habits and routines to make healing sustainable and realistic long term.
I’m also honoured to be part of the Hira Collective, an online booking platform and community that connects individuals with vetted holistic, wellness, and mystic arts practitioners who honour the Ancestral Roots of the modalities they share. Values that deeply resonate with me and my work at Nutristica.
What I’m most proud of is the supportive, judgment-free space I’ve created through Nutristica: a place where women feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I want every woman to know: your symptoms are not “just normal,” and you don’t have to suffer in silence.
As part of this mission, I also host monthly free online workshops on a variety of women’s health topics. These workshops are open to all and designed to educate, empower, and create community, helping women better understand their bodies and feel more confident navigating their health.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Starting Nutristica was one of the most rewarding and challenging things I’ve ever done. Like many practitioners, I began with passion but little guidance on how to actually build a business. I didn’t have a roadmap I just had a deep desire to help women and my own experience to guide me. There were moments of doubt, slow seasons, and times I questioned whether I was doing it right. But I kept going. I learned, adapted, invested in myself, and stayed connected to my “why.” Resilience, for me, has meant holding the vision even when the results weren’t immediate and trusting that creating something meaningful takes time. And now, seeing women feel heard, supported, and empowered through my work makes it all worth it.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, I believe the most important qualities for succeeding in this field are empathy, active listening, and authenticity. In holistic women’s health, people aren’t just looking for information, they’re looking to feel seen, heard, and understood. Many of my clients come to me after years of feeling dismissed, so building trust and holding a safe, non-judgmental space is essential.
Consistency and patience are also key. Results in holistic health don’t happen overnight, and neither does building a meaningful practice. And finally, doing the work yourself, not just professionally but personally, helps you connect on a deeper level with the women you serve.
