We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Miranda Strange. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Miranda below.
Miranda, appreciate you joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
It is amazing to be able to say that I earn a full-time living from my boudoir photography business. I had a unique situation where I was able to take over an existing business that had already been well-established with a fantastic reputation and wonderful past clients. However, the hustle is still very real and marketing is a never-ending part of the job. Things have shifted heavily in the photography industry the last few years, so old ways of doing things are having to be adjusted. I focus on creating a community with my clients (past, present, future) and actually having a relationship with them. I also share more real and raw content that clients can relate to regarding all things confidence, self-love, and just try to help people along their journey no matter where they are at in it.
I would say having a mentor was a huge part of my success, as well as continuing education. Investing in content such as guides and programs have given me the tools I need to elevate my skills, save me time, and make my clients’ experience even more special.

Miranda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Miranda Strange and I own a local photography company in the valley, Le Boudoir Studio. We specialize in tasteful boudoir portraits, but my business is so much more than delivering pretty photos.
I took over the company from the original owner back in October of 2022. Before becoming the boss lady, I worked at Le Boudoir Studio for a few years, getting to learn the ins and outs of both the business and creative side.
What sets Le Boudoir Studio apart from others is that our approach to the experience encompasses more than just traditional boudoir photos. We aim to provide a safe and supportive community with our clients, establish a relationship with them, and guide them in their self-love journey by providing inspiration, tips, and encouragement to continue gaining confidence long after the session is over.
I am most proud of how I have taken a well-known and respected business and made it my own, while still maintaining the integrity of the services we provided. I have added additional location options, themed sets, and created a VIP Facebook group where we can communicate and be inspired daily by these strong, like-minded women.
As a creative, I am constantly learning and expanding on my craft and improving the entire experience for my clients. I want to change the narrative and taboo-ness of boudoir and show people just how powerful and necessary an experience like this is. Boudoir personally changed my life and showed me that I could become the version of myself that I had always wanted to be. Now, I feel so lucky to be able to provide that for others. It’s truly the greatest gift to do what I do!

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely!
It really clicked with me this year that my path leading up til now has been ultimately leading to a life where I can help women realize their potential and show them that the life they want to live is obtainable. A major role in that is building self-confidence and self-esteem. When you believe in yourself and your abilities, and learn to love who you are, you become unstoppable.
When I hear my boudoir clients tell me that they have never felt or looked this beautiful before, it pains me. However, knowing that I could give them that kind of feeling is so incredibly special and that is why I continue to do my job. Knowing that I could be even a small part of someone’s journey to becoming more confident and accepting of themselves and their body is the ultimate gift.
Every woman should have that experience, and I love being able to provide it for them!

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Le Boudoir Studio is a high-touch business, so communication is key. From the moment you inquire, we provide all the information and resources potential clients need. I like to get all inquiring women on the phone for a consultation call with me directly, where I go over what they can expect, how this process works, and of course answer any questions they have. I am the only one that communicates with my clients so they always get me directly and that helps establish a more personal relationship.
Our CRM is set up so that once a client is booked, they are consistently getting information leading up to their session and never feel ghosted. I want to make sure their entire experience is stress-free!
Either before or after their session, I encourage my clients to join our private FB group where I connect with my group members daily. This has helped further the relationship with not only my clients, but they have the opportunity to add friends as well so I love getting to see new faces and begin that relationship with them even before they come in.
We really are all about fostering connection. I have had so many clients turn into friends, and they keep coming back to do session after session because of that. They understand that it’s about more than the photos, it really is an experience!
We also have an amazing referral program where clients and potential clients alike can earn credits towards their session which is a great incentive to share their personal experience with others. I have THE BEST clients and feel so lucky to have the support I do at Le Boudoir Studio.
