We recently connected with Miranda Quartaro and have shared our conversation below.
Miranda, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I use to think I wish I started my business sooner but as I reflect on the success and progression I realized I started it at the most perfect time. I’ve learned as a business owner with a business focused around yourself it’s important to focus on your personal development and showing up as the best version of yourself for your brand and your clients. When I started my business I was lost in the hospitality world and didn’t know where I wanted to go next but I knew I loved events, relationship and the chaos of it all. I believe I started it when I was ready.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Miranda Quartaro, founder and lead planner of MQ Events & Coordination, a full-service event planning and design firm based in upstate New York with events spanning the Finger Lakes, across the U.S., and internationally. My background is rooted in over a decade of experience in hospitality and event management, which naturally evolved into a deep passion for curating weddings and celebrations that feel effortless, intentional, and deeply personal.
My journey into this industry began with a genuine love for creating memorable experiences — the kind that tell a story through every curated detail. After years of managing large-scale events, I founded MQ Events to bring a more refined, relationship-focused, and design-driven approach to the wedding world. What began as local coordination quickly grew into a state wide brand known for luxury destination weddings, estate tented affairs, and elevated social events.
At MQ Events, we provide a range of planning and design services — from Full-Service Planning and Wedding Weekend Management to Destination Weddings and curated Special Events. Every client receives a tailored experience, complete with detailed logistics, creative design direction, and seamless execution. Our goal is to allow couples and hosts to be fully present while we handle the moving pieces behind the scenes.
What truly sets MQ Events apart is our commitment to storytelling through design. We believe every event should feel like a reflection of the people at the center of it — whether that means transforming an Italian villa into a pastel coastal dreamscape or designing an elegant black-tie celebration in a historic ballroom. Each project is guided by collaboration, creative intention, and an unwavering dedication to excellence.
I’m most proud of the relationships we build — with clients, families, and vendor partners who become part of the MQ family. There’s something incredibly meaningful about guiding couples through one of the most important seasons of their lives and creating an experience that feels distinctly theirs.
Ultimately, MQ Events is about more than logistics and timelines — it’s about curating a feeling. The joy, calm, and beauty our clients experience on their wedding day are what drive every decision we make behind the scenes.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Word of mouth, building relationships with other event professionals. Preferred vendor lists are a huge part of my book of business.

How did you build your audience on social media?
My best advice for social media is to be your authentic self. Post behind the scenes, the 100 page check list, I have a very positive platform. I never share my personal life I want my social media to be a live portfolio for my current and new clients.
I always engaged in other wedding professionals post, showing support. Be yourself, be approachable, your social media should match your personality when people meet you.
