Minyon, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Works of Wonder (WOW) was founded by a Mother (Georgia) and Daughter (Minyon) duo. The awesome seamstress whose intricate designs and fabulous beading coupled with Minyon’s savvy business sense and creativeness Works of Wonder came to life…………………
What sets this duo’s jewelry apart is that none of the designs are mass-produced. Each meticulously handcrafted piece is unique. We take pride in purchasing one-of-a-kind or limited-edition beads to ensure that most of our pieces are totally original.
The goal is to provide quality handcrafted jewelry and beaded creations that can’t be found in malls. While the business has grown in the past few years, custom/personalized creations such as (Denim Jackets, T-shirts, blankets) has been added to Works of Wonder.
We pride ourselves on maintaining personal relationships with customers assuring they are happy with their purchases and service. In turn, customers are very loyal, returning frequently to discover new treasures for themselves and others that will give pleasure for years ahead.

This adaptability allows me to engage with customers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. I strive to provide accurate and helpful information, but always verify critical details independently. I understand that customers have varying needs and preferences, and I adjust accordingly. So, I can create original unique content such as jewelry sets, patched denim jackets, and personalized items. If you’re looking for something unique and personal, feel free to ask!
How’d you meet your business partner?
My mother is my business partner, there’s no doubt the relationship between a mother and a daughter can be a close-knit bond. Moms can be teachers, healers, and guides in times of need. In the same vein, daughters are the extension of a new generation, paving the way forward to the future. And when mother-daughter duos share a passion for business and creating, this dichotomy can prove to be a recipe for success.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I am currently in a season of pivoting in my business. We have always been known for custom jewelry. Once the pandemic hit and everyone was working from home the purchase of jewelry became very slim, As a result, we sought out other avenues for business and begin to focus more on custom/personalized gifts for customers which in turned began to be a more lucrative.
