Minnie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m the owner and founder of ME Skincare. After years of trying almost everything on the market to help my daughter itchy dry skin and getting temporary results or none at all, enough became enough when my baby girl began to scratch her skin until it bled so I put on my mother armor and began mixing up all natural homemade remedies at my kitchen table as well remembering those good ole homemade remedies and natural plants my grandma Minnie Ola and my momma Debra used when I was growing up which began working wonders on my baby girl eczema and to date her eczema is healed.

Shortly after, I began sharing my products with family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.

After receiving such great feedback on their skin changes, it dawned on me that I had something great that need to be shared with the world, so it became my desire to share my homemade remedies with parents around the world that has a child that’s suffering from the same skin discomfort my child once had. But in addition to, I knew it was a gift that God gave me to help heal others with eczema, so I launched my brand a year later and here we are in the flesh.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

In all honesty, I didn’t have a strategy I just knew I had a product that I needed to share with the world and to do that I had to get my products out there, but in doing so, our business had it’s high points and it’s low points but when you fast forward to today I’m glad I had such trials. Why? Because!!!!

I went on a spiritual journey and just begin to pray and ask God to lead me and guide my steps to the people that he knew would help me grow, to revamp my brand for me to reach those in need of our products if it’s in his will for me to do as such.

God put us in one another paths and she came into my life and helped me to focus on my why, a target audience, my niche, just so many different elements in having a business strategy when it comes to being an entrepreneur business owner overall.

You cannot or shall I say shouldn’t just dive into it no matter how much of an entrepreneur you are, and you have faith in your product(s) because without a precise strategy you will have some hurdles to leap over that just may make you rethink yourself.

I learned that you must have the right strategy for your audience is key from Fatima because when you don’t have a strategy it’ll be challenging to get the recognition your brand deserves, truly because I repeat, there’s going to be hiccups no matter what.

If you’re not prepared it can cause your business to crumble, so I cannot say it enough thank God and thank you Fatima Barnes because as my business strategist coach you taught me things about business I didn’t know and my degree in business management most definitely didn’t teach me.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?

The biggest lesson that I had to unlearn is that you cannot please everyone, you can reach them, but it doesn’t mean that what I have is for them. It’s not about what I like. It’s about the need of the consumer.

Try your hardest not to be your own worst critic because it can be damaging to the growth and operation of your journey. It’s OK to accept guidance because having somewhat of a shield when it comes to the overall essence in being coachable can also be hindering to your growth as an individual and your business.

Being Coachable opens your eyes and mind to such greater heights and possibilities and opportunities you probably didn’t realize of self because you don’t realize it, you can underestimate yourself as an entrepreneur and business owner overall.

You must stay focus no matter how tough it may seem because it’s really all in your mind due to your eagerness to succeed and you can be your own “undoing” if you’re not open to some tweaks or changes, so I say it again be coachable.

Yes, there will be trials and tribulations, steppingstones no matter how great your product or service is because it’s life. Open your heart without any sorts of fear/failure and allow God to use you and remember it’s not on your time it’s on God time. 🙏🏾
