We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Minister Frankie a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Minister Frankie , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

In my case, my ministry or business wasn’t an idea. It was a calling from Christ. When Jesus calls, you must answer. I have a very powerful testimony of how Jesus brought me out of the streets at a young age. He saved me from addiction, assault, rape, suicide, and so many other things that are too many to name. He called me back to the streets, out of a 6 figure income, to go to the darkest places across the nation to SHINE HIS LIGHT!! He called me to go to those who are still struggling. He chose me because who better to go tell them than someone who has been right where they are and can show them the way out of that hell. I answered the call and became an ordained minsiter in 2017. My ministry works with addicts, alcoholics, homeless, criminals, prostitutes, trafficking victims, and anyone who needs the love of Jesus.
Since answering my call, I have worked with The Mayweather Family, The King Family, The Atlanta Sherriff’s Department, Top Tier Politicians and Entertainers, and so many amazing organizations. I have written books and music. I have produced documentaries and put on some of the largest homeless events across the nation. I have done street ministry in The Bluff, The Southside of Chicago, Brooklyn New York, Skid Row in L.A., The WestSide in Jacksonville, and so many other cities. It has been such a blessing to serve such a loving GOD. We hope to serve even more and SHINE HIS LIGHT all across the globe in the coming years.

Minister Frankie , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My call to serve the homeless and do street ministry came in 2017. Since our inception, we have served thousands of homeless men, women, and kids. I have not only led people to Christ, but I have mentored and encouraged many other ministries to begin. I have helped young women go from doing meth everyday to organizing events around recovery. I have helped trafficking victims escape their captors and educated schools on the dangers around trafficking. I wrote my first book in 2019 ( “Monday Motivation By Minister Frankie ), and I am currently working on my second book about suicide. I have written and produced songs and documentaries, acted as counselor to the broken, and had the opportunity to work with some of the most well known companies in the world. It has been a great privilege to be used by GOD to impact change in a dark world. There is so much hate and division in this world. All I want to be is a bright light. We have some amazing volunteers, and we always need volunteers. We also offer community service. We hold huge block parties with rappers, rockers, speakers, preachers, dancers, and musicians. We are working on a reality show and a Shine Time tour in the future. We cannot wait to share more music and bring CHRIST to as many cities as possible.
Shine His Light Ministries strives everyday to help people find their way off the street and off the drugs if that is the case. With our #NoChildOutside Campaign, we make sure no child is left to sleep on the street or in a car. We get them into emergency shelter immediately and work to get them into the proper program for their situation. Our goal is to not have any children sleeping on the street where the dangers are far too great these days. For women and young girls on the street, it is not if they will get raped, it is when. Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

My fiance and love of my life killed himself 3 months after we had our baby daughter. This changed my life forever. I was so lost when this happened, and I wanted to die myself. I kept on though. I had a dead fiance. 2 kids with two last names, a tiny 700 sq ft apartment I couldn’t afford, a car that wouldn’t go in reverse, a DUI, Bankruptcy, and an addiction to drugs and alcohol or anything that would numb the pain. I had no education and no resources. I was making about $20,000 a year at the point. Within 4 years, I was making well over 6 figures, had my real estate license and a second degree. I am currently counseling and helping lead people out of situations just like I was in. I am working on a book about suicide and help people all the time who are dealing with the loss of a loved one to suicide or considering suicide themselves. I own homes and cars, and I work with some of the most prestigious groups in the nation. My life has been blessed,
God can make beauty out of ashes. What you think is the worst thing to ever happen to you, he can use for good. If I had not lost Chadd, I would have never found Christ or be the strong, sober, powerful leader I am today. So many people have been saved because of his life and because I never stopped working. I never quit on my kids or myself. I could have given up. I could have applied for welfare and chaulked my life up as one big loss. I could have continued to use. I could have let my kids go with their grandparents.. I chose to get sober and fight for the life my kids and I deserved. I was not going to be a statistic. Because I chose to accept my situation, work hard for my goals, and literally push myself to my limits, I can say today that Chadd’s death was not in vain, His light will forever shine through my ministry…our ministry. GOD can make
miracled happen if you let him.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

In our ministry, GOD pays all the bills, I want to share that we do not ask for funds, and we never have. We share everything we do on social media and began with just a few followers. We have had posts with 50,000 views and have thousands of followers all across the globe now. We have multiple dedicated donors, zero debt, vehicles that are owned outright, and supplies to serve daily. During Covid, for example, we were on the Atlanta task force for the Homeless. We served with Safehouse every night. We had women who were at home cooking meals, restaurants cooking meals, and people we had never met cooking huge meals for 200. At the end of 30 days, we had served 15,000 meals and 20,000 bottles of water all for free. We made sure the homeless on the streets of Atlanta had a nice hot meal every night. This is just one example, but we have served probably 500,000 over the last 5 years with food, supplies, clothes, and in our #Nochildoutside campaign housing. GOD provides all of our needs. He is always faithful, and I must always give him all the glory. I encourage anyone who has a heart to give, to give. You can never outgive GOD. If you want your business to flourish and your life to have joy like never before. Get out and serve or give to a cause you love. GOD will manifest love, joy, and provision in your business and life. A clinched fist cannot receive anything!
