We recently connected with Ming Ley and have shared our conversation below.
Ming, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What’s the kindest thing anyone has ever done for you?
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me is simply share their story. I know that may sound a bit “basic” but it’s the truth. So, of course I share the motivational content I make on multiple platforms and people engage. This particular day a mid-age woman reached out to me; let’s just call her Ivy. She left me several voice notes telling me about how she had just gotten surgery on both of her feet, couldn’t walk, not working at the moment and in a world of pain. She also proceeded to tell me how her circumstances had her down and uninspired. I then empathized with her. She told me that, despite everything she was going through, the content I created motivated her and genuinely lifted her spirits, making her feel better inside. I could hear the genuineness in her voice and it instantly made my chest warm and my eyes water. That moment carried a heaviness but it somehow felt reassuring. I thought to myself, “This my goal from doing what I do, creating the content that I do. It’s to motivate and inspire those that may be going through something or even just need a few affirming words.” If I can touch at least ONE person from each of my posts, I feel accomplished. Words have the power to turn someone’s day around and give them a better outlook on things… that’s why I speak them!

Ming, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Ming Ley, and I am a motivational content creator and podcaster, best known for Ming Talks: Ming’s Motivational Minute. My journey into this space began organically—what started as personal reflection and self-growth evolved into a purpose-driven platform rooted in encouragement, clarity, and emotional resilience. I was drawn to this work because I understand how powerful the right words can be during moments of doubt or transition. My guiding philosophy is simple: be intentional and do all things with purpose.
Through my content and podcast—where motivation meets real conversation—I deliver concise yet impactful messages centered on mindset, self-worth, and perseverance. My work is designed to meet people where they are, offering grounded, relatable motivation rather than surface-level inspiration. At its core, what I do is help people feel seen, understood, and empowered to keep moving forward, especially during life’s more challenging seasons.
What sets me apart is authenticity. I speak from lived experience, not from a pedestal. Every piece of content I create is rooted in honesty and intention, allowing for a deeper, more human connection. I’m most proud of the individuals who have shared that my words helped them through difficult moments or shifted their perspective when they needed it most—those quiet impacts mean everything to me.
I want readers, potential collaborators, and followers to know that my brand is purpose-driven. It’s not about perfection or performance, but about creating space for reflection, growth, and genuine encouragement. Everything I share is meant to remind people of their inner strength and reinforce that they are never alone in what they’re facing.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I went through a period where everything felt like it was unraveling—getting bored with my career, personal challenges, and self-doubt all at once. I remember feeling completely stuck, unsure if I even had the drive to keep going. Instead of giving in, I started sharing short motivational messages online—just one small post a day.
At first, hardly anyone noticed, and some days I questioned whether it was even worth it. But slowly, people began reaching out, telling me my words had given them clarity or comfort during their own struggles. That feedback became my lifeline. It reminded me that even in moments when I felt powerless, I could create impact—and that consistency, intention, and vulnerability were my tools.
That experience taught me that resilience isn’t about avoiding hard moments; it’s about showing up anyway and using what you have to keep moving forward. Today, that lesson underpins everything I create. I speak from a place of lived experience because I know the value of perseverance firsthand—and I want my content to remind others that even in the toughest times, they are not alone.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is knowing my work can truly connect with people. Whether it’s a motivational message, a podcast episode, or a piece of content, my words have the power to inspire, comfort, or spark change—often when someone needs it most. It’s not about recognition or numbers; it’s about impact. Turning my own experiences and challenges into something that uplifts others—that’s what makes creating worth it.
