We recently connected with Mimilacedme and have shared our conversation below.
Mimilacedme, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I decided to create Mimilacedme brands and llc as an umbrella to for my hair business and it just grew into a business brand to encompass all of my products from hair branding and podcasting. Mimilacedme brands and Shapeshifters podcast and Mindful Mental health. My ideas just come and when they do I have to execute it’s like a rush that I get seeing things I’ve built come to fruition.
Mimilacedme, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
So my name is Mia Miller , Mimilacedme by brand name. I am a celebrity hairstylist and podcaster. You’ve seen me on some of the most trending podcast as well as working with some of the biggest names in the hair game. I’ve been a hairstylist for more than 10 years. I created a podcast called Shapeshifter’s podcast “ We shape the Culture “ it’s a podcast discussing some of the most influential people and ideas for the culture of hair and influence.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience by being consistent at first it was fun to post, I would say consistency is key don’t look at your social media journey in comparison with everyone else’s. It’s an individual journey and burnout does happen as well as trying to keep up can get overwhelming. But just post post your business post yourself just post. I have to tell myself that at times because it’s a lot to keep up with especially in the days of now with AI and the quality of where social media is now. I would just say be authentic to yourself your audience will find you.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to learn is that in this business you cannot take things personally we’re all grinding and trying to climb I think in the beginning I felt like omg they’ll like me these are my friends , that couldn’t have been the furthest thing from the truth. I had to learn that I fill a need for people and with that need people will get personal and you will form relationships but never over estimate the relationships use them for what they’re you make connections you be a good person because these will be the relationships that take you to the next level. You’re lucky if you get a real genuine friend out of your brand relationships no matter the capacity, just understand that when you know what this is it can take you a long way getting caught up in your personal feelings dealing in business it won’t pan out if you have that approach to everything.
