We were lucky to catch up with Milton Matsuyama recently and have shared our conversation below.
Milton, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
My name is MILTON SUNAO Matsuyama Junior, I’m Brazilian, 38 years old and I’ve been working as a music producer and mixing engineer for at least 20 years. Throughout these years I have built a path of success through many struggles, difficult situations, valuable lessons shared by incredible people I met throughout my journey and I can say that one of my greatest achievements, in addition to my producer of which I am so proud, was undoubtedly my family. At the time I played with a church band in which I participated and we played at some events, it was in one of these events that I had the opportunity to meet my wife and build my family. Talking about risks is undoubtedly much easier than living in practice but throughout my life, my decisions have always been bold, I have always taken steps believing in my intuition and trusting in the chance that this could take me further. Recently I decided to take another risky step by changing countries. I left Brazil and came to the USA in search of even bigger flights. I have always had the desire to explore new horizons, new achievements and make a decision like these is undoubtedly to accept the risks. Of course, this was only possible because I brought my family together and in them I find all the necessary support to move forward and the courage to keep me up. I can say that it was the right decision since we have conquered the space so dreamed of and as the days go by, I can see how much I have to add to this country as well as absorb what this place has to offer me. From bands to singers, studios to production companies, I have reaped a lot of fruit and received great criticism and this has been the fuel so that I can continue to move on accepting to deal with new risky decisions.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

How did you build your audience on social media?
First step for those who want to start a path of success on social networks and become relevant is to identify what you have to offer as a differential. This was the first self-assessment I did to start my journey. When I identified what I could share differently, the next step was to think about how to do it in a creative and didactic way. The third step is constancy, how much of your time you want to dedicate to sharing with others what you have to offer.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
When I started on the path of music I did it by my own means, I studied very little, I didn’t have anyone to teach me how important it was to learn about the theoretical part. It’s like I’m in a puzzle game and every time I assembled it leaving missing pieces. My most valuable tip is, if you want to start in any of the field, study, become a technician in the subject so that you have the mastery completely.
