We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Miles Prime . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Miles below.
Alright, Miles thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew I wanted to pursue music professionally for the rest of my life the very moment I performed at my first talent show at 7 years old
I had already been rapping ever since the age of 6 as my mother was a rapper and writer herself, she would write a lot of my early raps and have me perform them in front of her
when the school talent show came around a year later I was heavily in love with the art of creating rhymes that it was a no brainer for me
me and my mom wrote a song and rehearsed it so much so that I pretty much had choreography for certain lines and beat drops within the song. I easily passed the initiation process and I was READY
I fell in love the exact moment I started performing on that stage. the music, the large audience, the cheers, the adrenaline.. probably the happiest I’ve ever been! Just finding my voice and being able to express myself in that way was the best feeling
And since then I participated in school talent shows every year. getting more and more comfortable with myself and even venturing off and writing my own songs
That not only shaped me into the artist i am today, but helped me maximize my confidence and showed me this is the exact career path I deserve to be on
.

Miles , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who don’t know, my name is Miles Prime and I’m a independent music artist out of Phoenix, Az born and raised. I started getting involved with music at the age of 6 and haven’t looked back since!
The main thing I want people to take away from my story is just how far persistency and staying true to yourself and craft can take you
No matter if you’re a artist like myself, a mechanic, a school teacher whatever the case. At the end of the day we all want to be known and respected for our craft that we put so much hard work into
There are going to be days where you feel like you aren’t making any progress or aren’t making an impact on people. I too struggle with these emotions every now and then but if it wasn’t for staying persistent and hence, true to who I am as an artist, I probably wouldn’t be here sharing this with you today
Timing is key
: Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Just the simple fact it’s what I love to do. I’m not chasing money, fame etc. if I was I would’ve stopped a long time ago
I want to be able to wake up everyday and do music simply off the fact that it’s what I love to do and I want to share my creations with those who are willing to listen

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A big lesson that can always be learned in the music industry is to just not take everything so personal
Someone may love someone else’s music, but not yours
Someone who started making music yesterday may get a bigger opportunity than someone who’s been making music for 12 years. That’s just part of the game
As long as you stay on the right path your time will come. Again, timing is everything
