Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Miles Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Miles, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happier as a creative? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job? Can you talk to us about how you think through these emotions?
I couldn’t be happier. Growing up I used to always tell my mom that I would never work a 9-5 job or sit at a cubicle for five days a week because I’m too creative. Being able to express my creativity, collaborate with other creatives, and share ideas to bring to life is what being a creative is all about. It brings me an excitement that can’t be replaced by any other career.

Miles, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve always been a creative, but tapping into my creative side was always something I did as a hobby and never something I thought of pursuing. I dedicated the first 21 years of my life to sports. I dreamed of making it to the NFL. My college football career started in 2018 at the University of Nebraska and ended in 2020 at University of Tennessee. After moving back home during covid and being stuck inside the house, I figured now would be the best time to fully embrace my creative talents. I decided to move to LA at the end of 2021 after getting accepted into the Identity School of Acting. Since then I’ve grown into more than an actor. I now write, produce and direct my own shorts. Transitioning from an athlete to a creative wasn’t an easy road but seeing my growth and how far I’ve come made me realize how much talent I had in me that was just waiting to be set free. Being able to make this transition also helped me realize that this is what sets me apart from others. My ability to adapt and adjust on the fly, regardless of what life throws at me. I’ve been able to apply this adaptability in my work. Whether it’s having to give the director different takes in a scene, rewrite a script or adjust the shot list on the fly, I’ve always found a way to figure it out.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My current goal is to release the first episode of a YouTube series called Co(mingle), that I’ve been writing, producing, directing and acting in. Me and my creative partners, Ron Brown and Preston Bradley, have been working on this series and towards this goal for the past year and a half. The most rewarding thing right now would be for us to see all of our hard work and dedication come to life. My goals are always changing and evolving as I achieve one goal and move on to the next. My creative journey is a forever evolving goal that I’m always chasing.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Having no limitations to my creativity and being free to make whatever I or whoever I’m collaborating with can think of. As an actor and filmmaker, the world is my medium and there’s a limitless number of ways to bring a film to life. Discovering all of the different avenues I can take to tell stories in a way that’s unique to my creative eye is the best part of the process.
