We were lucky to catch up with Milan Tisdale recently and have shared our conversation below.
Milan , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The story behind Beauty in the Brand starts with my own journey as a young woman trying to navigate through business and entrepreneurship. Through the years, I have tried out several businesses, and one thing became clear; a strong and authentic brand is the heart of a successful business. Marketing is really the bridge between a company and its audience, and I realized that many women, more so those just starting, struggled to build that bridge.
This was my ‘aha’ moment, the realization that sparked my mission. I was seeing so many incredible women with amazing ideas who didn’t have the tools, resources, or confidence to present their brands in a way that actually reflected their value. It wasn’t just about marketing strategy; it was about empowerment. I wanted to create a space where women could learn not only how to elevate their brands but also see the beauty and potential in what they were building.
This mission is important to me because I’ve walked—and am still walking—in those same shoes. I know firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate the business world, especially on social media platforms filled with noise and competition. I’ve experienced the challenges of building a brand, finding an audience, and staying authentic, and I’m still on that journey as I further my education and skills to continue learning and growing.
Helping women find their voice, connect with their audience, and feel proud of what they’ve built is deeply fulfilling because it resonates so personally with me. Beauty in the Brand isn’t just about teaching marketing strategies; it’s about creating a space for confidence, creativity, and community. It’s a way to show other women that their vision is valid, their story is valuable, and their brand is beautiful.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hi, I’m Milan Tisdale, a social media manager, content creator, and the founder of Beauty in the Brand. I’ve always been passionate about marketing, connecting with people, and empowering women, which is why I’m currently studying advertising while actively working in the industry. My brand, Beauty in the Brand, is dedicated to helping women uncover the unique value in their businesses and learn how to market them effectively on social media.
My journey into this field started with my own entrepreneurial experiences and a love for creativity. Over time, I realized that marketing is not just a skill but a bridge that helps ideas reach their full potential. That realization inspired me to help other women, especially those who may feel stuck or overwhelmed when it comes to branding and social media.
Through Beauty in the Brand, I offer workshops, one-on-one consulting, and digital resources that simplify marketing for women entrepreneurs. I also create content for brands that align with my values, using my platform to share relatable, motivational, and self-love-driven messages. A key part of my mission is helping young women understand that they are exactly where they should be on their journey. Growth takes time, and I strive to encourage women to embrace every step of the process.
What sets me apart is that I’m not just teaching marketing—I’m living it. I’m still learning and growing myself, and I believe that authenticity is a strength. My content and services come from a genuine place of experience, creativity, and a desire to uplift others.
What I’m most proud of is the transformation I see in the women I work with. Watching them gain confidence, refine their brands, and find joy in what they create is incredibly rewarding. I’m also proud to use my platform to inspire young women to see their potential and remind them that their journey is valuable, no matter where they are.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about Beauty in the Brand, it’s that this is a space for growth, creativity, and community. Whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to refine your brand, my goal is to help you see the beauty in your business and connect with your audience in a way that feels authentic and impactful.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I think one of the most important lessons I’ve had to unlearn is that starting over doesn’t mean failing. Before I got into marketing, I was in the beauty service industry offering noninvasive weight loss solutions. I genuinely loved what I was doing because it was so rewarding to help women feel confident in their appearance.
But during that time, I started noticing how important marketing was for running a successful business. I would stay up late researching strategies, brainstorming content ideas, and finding ways to connect with my audience. A lot of my clients would talk to me about their own businesses, and they’d often ask me for advice on how to market them. I found myself spending hours helping them come up with ideas, and that’s when it clicked—I had a real passion for this, and there was a demand for the value I could provide.
Unfortunately, my own business started to struggle. I went through a tough season where sales slowed down, and personal challenges—like car troubles that made it hard to get to my shop—piled up. Eventually, I had to make the difficult decision to close my shop. At the time, I was a full-time entrepreneur, and honestly, it felt like everything was falling apart. I was devastated and felt like I’d failed.
But after some time to reflect, I realized that starting over didn’t mean giving up. I thought about the parts of my work that I loved most and how I could channel that passion into something new. That’s how Beauty in the Brand came to life. It still aligns with my purpose of empowering women, but instead of focusing on their appearance, I now help women feel confident in their businesses.
Looking back, I see that pivot as a blessing. It taught me that starting over isn’t about failure—it’s about growth. It’s an opportunity to realign with your purpose and build something even better. That’s a lesson I carry with me and one that I love to share with others.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I recently had a moment where I had to completely pivot in both life and business. For about two years, I was a full-time entrepreneur, and during that time, I made a lot of progress and learned so much about myself. But I also knew that I wasn’t reaching my full potential because I was still figuring myself out as a young woman. That realization led me to make a major life change: I decided to go back to school full-time.
The last time I was in school was four years ago, and I was studying biology—so this wasn’t just a return to education; it was a complete shift in my path. Transitioning to studying advertising was a big adjustment, and it meant I had to put certain aspects of my business on hold because it became too overwhelming to handle everything at once.
At first, I felt disappointed and discouraged. It’s hard to pause something you’re passionate about, especially when it feels like you’re taking a step back. But this break has turned out to be a blessing. It gave me the chance to sit back, reset, and restart with a clearer vision and a stronger foundation. Now that I’m studying advertising, I’ve gained knowledge and skills that I’m actively incorporating into my business. I’m also in the process of a rebrand and a comeback that I know will be better than anything I’ve done before.
This pivot has taught me that it’s okay to pause and take time to focus on yourself. Sometimes, stepping away is exactly what you need to come back stronger. I love being transparent about these moments because I know how important it is to remind others that it’s okay to take a break, reflect, and restart. This experience has been challenging but so necessary, and I’m incredibly grateful for the growth it has brought into my life.
